how do you check it?

Are there alot of people having problems with the flex ribbon cable on the AVIC-Z3 ? I called pioneer today since it was having problems and they told me to send it in so they can check and replace the ribbon cable. They acted like this has been a problem and they are fixing them for free even if its not under warranty. Anyway just wondering what is going with this.

Does anyone know how to fix a Z3 when the screen goes dark? everything such as the touch screen and nav and radio still works but you cant see anything on the screen. If you stare at it long enough you can barely make out things on the screen it is just so dim that you cant see anything. it is the same way in both the day and night mode. The system has been working fine for months and i have not done any mods to it. I was just driving along today and it basically went black. Thanks for any help....
