  1. Again, when i had a partially working upgrade disc, the exact same thing happened on my N3. it turned out my upgrade disc did not burn correctly. Did you try burning with Nero 7, AND verifying the files after it burned? I would'nt get too worried yet, you can always reset the radio and start over with your old map disc (not quite sure how on a d3, but i'm pretty sure it can be done. upgrading to cndv 80 was a lot more difficult than upgrading to cndv 70, atleast for me, but after using about 8 discs, i finally got it to work.
  2. hurmph, that didn't happen to me. Did you try turning it off and then back on? I know when i put my disc back in, i had to re set my region. I'm sure you tried hitting the region button. I have a n3, so i'm not quite sure how it looks on your unit.
  3. only thing i can thing of is try winzip? again use the evaluation copy. I;m not sure what it could be, I'm just telling you everything that worked for me
  4. i used the direct link try using a ftp cleint like flashfxp to download the file, that way if the file interupts at any time, it can finish the download. i think they charge for it, but you can just use the evaluation version. i just downloaded it with flashfxp, had the same 'corrupted zip' error What is the file size? it should be 3,603,349,881 bytes. Did you use winzip to unzip?

  6. are you using the direct link, or are you using an ftp cleint? I had an issue with the direct link (corrupt), but when i re downloaded with Flashfxp, it worked just fine.
  7. So, i am just giving everyone an FYI about the cndv 80 disc. After using about 3 discs, i FINALLY got it to work. I ended up using a memorex dl disc. However, when i burned it with imgburn, it did NOT work. I then tried with Nero 7, burned it, verified it (verification of files FAILED!!!), but that disc still worked to upgrade the system and everything looks fine. So, i guess in short, i would recommend using NERO over imgburn. Just thought i'd share my failure/sucess story. Good luck!
  8. Anyone have an issue where the navi unit won't allow you to click on certain buttons in the navi menu? I have a bypassed n3 (used the switch) and everything has been working fine until i tried to upgrade my unit to cndv-80. i had some disc errors, but it didn't even look like it tried to install anything. ANd even after i tried the discs, when i put my old dic back in, everything worked fine. it seems like the unit is stuck in "drive" mode, even though it is bypassed, and even if i use my hot routes, it won't calculate the route. Any ideas?
  9. Ok, so another question regarding the east disc. I copied it (version from this forum) burned it with imgburn, and verified the disc. Everything went perfect, EXCEPT when i put it in the avic-n3, it said "read error" Anyone else have this problem? My other copy of the disc said "please insert appropiate disc" So, both copies are giving me some kind of problem. If anyone has any input, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll just wait til 2009 and buy the discs . Thanks!
  10. i used img burn, and i always run a verify after a disc, and everything came out ok. I checked the disc on my computer, and it seemed like everything was there.
  11. I have a quick question about the CNDV-80 MT upgrade process. I recently downloaded a copy from a torrent (not the file you're providing) and everything seem to go fine, until i put the disc in the unit. It said "invalid disc" or something like that. I am currently downloading your copy, and going to give that a try, but I was wondering if this is a known issue, or if the other copy was just bad. When i did an upgrade to CNDV-70, i had no problems, and yes, i did extract the files and turned it into an .iso . I have read some stuff about re-setting the unit, and then it will work fine, b
