how exactly did you reinstall the APL folders? Please be more elaborate.

I finally got a hold of the new 2.0 firmware. Tried to installed it like normal but seem like the unit wont read from my SD card at all with the new firmware in there.

Tried on another SD card but it still wont read.

Will tried the Testmode method tonight to see if i got any result... If not... Kenwood here i come..... :?

  2. damn i just got this problem today too.

When start up the car, my custom startup image load up for 10 seconds or so, then screen went black... Then lights around my knob slowly diminishing from bright colors to NONE..

the screen is black!!!! Sometimes if i hit the MAP button, the GPS would work but most of the time it doesnt.

I tried all kind of reset methods from Pioneer but none of them work... haven't try reinstall the firmware again tho..

Can someone please post up the 2.0 firmware .zip package from Pioneer.com? I checked their site today but the server is down so I cannot download the .zip file to reinstall the system file..

    Thanks for your help!!!

  3. I'll answer the last two posts in one go.

To have access to the settings and phone screens, or for either the software or hardware bypass to work, the parking brake lead in the wiring harness must be connected to a ground.

That can be a constant ground (by connecting it to the ground lead in the harness, or other suitable grounding point), or it can be a variable ground (like the parking brake circuit).

Pioneer, understandably, wants you to connect it to your cars parking brake ground so that the above functions will only be available when the parking brake is engaged. That doesn't make very much sense on a bypassed unit (why would bypass it in the first place if we're just going to rely on the parking brake to be engaged), so just connect that lead to the black ground wire in the main harness (along with the relocated mute pin if you choose to do the hardware bypass) and you're done.

    Does that help?

YES!! Thanks so much. You just save me a lot of time because its super hard to get to the e-brake location on my car.

I will tap that line to the ground line on the main harness.

    Thank you so much :P

  4. The bypass for the F-Series can be found in the F-Series Hacks/Mods forum, it's a sticky at the top.

You can perform the software bypass or the mute wire relocation bypass, but in both cases, the parking brake wire needs to be grounded.

What do u mean by "Grounded"?

I check the installation manual and it said to tap the light green brake wire to the "positive" line of the brake line and DID NOT mention anything about the ground wire or grounded??

Can you please help me clear that up? Should i follow the manual and tap to the power wire or the ground wire so it can be "grounded" like everyone here refer to?

    Thanks a lot.

Also, what does the Yellow Mute wire connect to? I have done the relocation for it but it doesn't connect to anywhere on the other end? good or bad?

  5. There has to be 1 of 2 things done before you will be allowed access to those features.

1- If the unit is hooked up as directed in the installation manual, the parking brake wire will be hooked up to the parking brake switch on your car, and the car needs to have the parking brake engaged and the can not be moving before it will allow access.

2- Perform the bypass as per 1 of the 4 stickied topics here and you will be allowed to use those functions at any time you want even while the vehicle is in motion.

Hey, i just installed this unit and having the same exact problem..

The link you posted there to the forum for D3 hacks. Does that applies to the F700Bt as well?

All i have done is performed the MUTE wire relocation per the hack forum for F-Series, which move it to a different location than the Avic-D3.

Can i do the software bypass?
