for now the gps antenna is right 3 inches away from the a-pillar mounted on top of the dash on the driver's side. no obstruction at all. mounted on the metal sheet. satellites, I get 10-11 out of 12 signal strength indicators, all green (except for a couple yellows and 1 red on the constellation), and blinking 3 reception status, green. The accuracy varies when driving, sometimes its really close (i.e. driving and making a turn onto another street, gps would indicate so on the map.) when parked, i'm ALWAYS 200 feet from where I'm actually at. I would be at my home address, and the g

really, is there a solution for those of us whose gps' are inaccurate? I'm always 200 feet from the true location. not a newbie and already searched and came across a lot of info, but not really any solution other than using other maps. Everything is mounted correctly and I get strong satellite signals.
  4. Connects2 is a low cost option that works the best. Their adapter was barely released last year for my car, 06 A3. It should cost around 70-80 shipped to U.S. and takes around 5-10 days depending how close you are to the UK. Everything is plug and play. The only thing you need additional is a wiring harness that you plug into the Connects2 unit and solder on to the Pioneer HU wiring harness. I've used the Metra 70-1784, since it has all the wires I need. Just solder on the Pioneer harness, as if you're doing a regular install, and plug the connector to the Connects2 connector. Their is
  5. +1 on the Connects2. I haven't installed it yet, but I hear rave reviews from our UK counterparts. The only downside is you have to order it through a UK company. I didn't know about the fascia by connects2 though.
  6. how exactly did you get these prices. They just gave it to you? Did you bargain?
  7. just go to live.com and search for avic f90bt or whatever and click on the sponsored link that says ebay with the live cashback icon on top. Better question is, when are they going to have 30% off again? It's been at 25% for a while now.
  8. thanks for clearing that up!!
  9. Rogue, so you don't need to buy from a specific listing that says you can get the live cashback? All you need is to make sure the live cashback is on top of the ebay page?
  10. a few days ago there were a couple sellers with the 25% cashback. Now there aren't any. It's not 30% its 25%, at least for this week. I'm just confused now, because some forums say you need to have the listing that specifically states 25% cashback, and I read this forum which just says all you need to do is do a live.com search and click on the ebay sponsored site on top with teh 25% live cashback.
  11. how come on some other enthusiast forums, they say in order to get the cashback you have to find an ebay listing that specifies that you are able to get the cashback. This forum says that you just need to have ebay open with the 25% cashback offer on top. Does anybody know for sure? Can you just choose any listing and get the 25% off? Or does the listing have to mention the 25% from live?
