  1. Oh no, we're screwed... Think we'll ever see another firmware update? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090212/ap_ ... an_pioneer TOKYO – Japanese electronics company Pioneer Corp. will cut 10,000 jobs globally to cope with sinking sales of car audio equipment and flat-screen TVs. It will also withdraw from its money-losing plasma display business.
  2. Thanks for the info. If I say 'no' to airplane mode, the video goes back to playing only on the iPhone, and not out through the composite. (Audio still works). I think the same happens if I do put it into airplane mode, but I've only done that like once or twice for troubleshooting. Do you know if both the Pioneer/JVC cables are "certified" with the 3G? I'm wondering if they use the USB pins or the firewire ones to charge.
  3. I bought a cheapo one from Hong Kong for like $12... It said "works with iPhone 3G, but not compatible with firmware 2.0 and newer", so I knew going into it I was getting into shaky ground at best. When it arrived, it looked to be assembled pretty well. Unfortunately, it only works "well" with my hacked first-gen iPhone on the 2.0 firmware, not well with the 3G on 2.2. There is no USB control with either unit, both units show 'charging', but don't. I just use the 1st gen to play videos on the AV1 input, and I use the 3G to play pandora streaming radio. The second I put the 3G on video, I
  4. So am I the only one that is blown away that Pioneer didn't include the FM RDS stuff in the F-series? The stock JBL deck in my 2005 Toyota Tundra had that and I got very used to it.. I loved seeing what artist was on, etc... Does the HD radio module (either the 10 or the 20) have that capability? Talk about a step back in time. I always thought the Supertuner lines were the best in the world.
  5. Sorry to be ignorant, but what does the Parrot software do better in the standalone units? I've got 2 iPhones (a hacked T-Mobile 1st gen and an unmodified AT&T 3G), and they both seem to work pretty well with my 700BT. The AT&T 3g is shite when it comes to call quality, so I usually pair it with the T-Mo, but I've never really had issue with it. (Of course, I don't use any advanced functionality. Voice dialing by number is about it) Don't get me wrong though, I'd love to try it on my AVIC. Even though they are using the Parrot hardware, is the parrot software on the standalone
  6. I picked up an F700 a little while ago, and didn't pay attention that only the 900 and 90 have Video Out. I'm sure the answer is no, but has anyone tried to add the output to it? Would it just be a matter of finding the headers and attaching an RCA cable, or do we think the necessary components would be missing? Thanks!
  7. I just ordered my F700 yesterday and checked PAC's website this morning looking at the PAC SWI-PS. The F series was not on their application list, so I called PAC to make sure it would work okay with my 2005 Toyota Tundra Double Cab w/ JBL System. The person who answered the phone was insanely helpful and said that Pioneer had changed the wired remote input in the F series, and that only source/volume buttons would work, but not the track seek up/down. He said a "fix" (new model?) was due out in November, but it was looking more like the end of the year. I love my steering wheel remote
