  1. it could maybe just a dumb idea,im not familiar with the update keycode, adn dont know when its asked for, if the unit askes for the code when you try to update, maybe its possible to go into test mode and just copy the contents of the update sd card to the right folders of the flashdisk

dont shoot me for this :D

That is the smartest thing I've ever heard.

  2. They have updated the product description.

    Coming Soon!

Model year 2009 TeleAtlas database on SD Card, featuring nearly 12 million POI, US and Canada coverage (including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico).

Includes firmware version 3.0, including heading-up option in 2D view, Highway Sign Boards, enhanced map UI with improved contrast, and more. Models with built-in MSN Direct will feature 3 additional channels (news, stocks and local events) and traffic flow displayed on map.

    Compatible with AVIC F-Series In-Dash navigation systems only (AVIC-F90BT, AVIC-F900BT, AVIC-F700BT, AVIC-F7010BT).

  3. This morning I had a route that I do not recall entering in. If this happens again I guess it may be a problem.

What mods do you have? I have the mods that make the clock bigger and add the other stuff to the map screen (current speed, mute voice guidance, etc.) but since I installed them it seems that the unit is not quite what it was. The clock is the only one I really need although I do like the other ones.

I have the software bypass, route stop button added to the map and deleted European maps.. I think that's all.

I'm really happy with it aside from a couple minor annoyances. It is plenty fast for me. I still want to try changing the memory allocation.

  4. Is there any down side to making these memory allocation changes? It seems that when this unit is modded to make something better, something else gets worse

.. You're telling me! Lately my F90BT has been booting up with an active route! I have to go in and delete the route. No, I didn't have an active route the last time I used it. It is just a random glitch I guess.

  5. So you put the antenna right on top of that little "cabinet" thing above the deck slot?

I must be pretty dumb because I didn't realize how many diferent things I would need to find a place for. I'm talking about the GPS antenna, microphone, and USB cable of course.

Since you guys have a Versa like me, where did you end up putting these?

I think I will put my antenna inside the dash since that seems to work fine, although I might just have it up on the dash in the far front of the shelf near the windshield.

I want the USB cable to go through to the inside of that "cabinet" or the glove compartment but I have no idea how easy that will be. Will I need to drill a hole?

For the mic, I have no idea. Any suggestions would be great.

I have a few more pictures in there. I put my mic on top of my steering column and it works great there. It was totally easy to run the wire, just have a friend drop the mic down inside the dash and go to the floor on the driver's side and pull it thru up to the steering column. You might need small hands, but you'll see what I mean when you get to it.

As for your first question, yes, it is mounted right on top of the little cabinet. Great reception for me. There are a lot of options, but I just wanted it hidden. 8)

Here is the tutorial I used to drill into the cabinet. I ran my USB and Ipod cable thru it. It was pretty easy. Skip the steps with the glove compartment.

  6. I put my antenna right behind the radio antenna on the roof of the car. I think it looks good and not very noticeable and of course I get great reception. When I get a chance I'll post a pic.

Awesome. I was really concerned about where I was going to put the antenna and I really wasn't looking forward to running wires everywhere. I started brainstorming and decided to put it in the dash on top of the little cubby. Works great!
