  1. Hi

I have X910 and hooked up with Ipod classic (very 1st generation). I can watch videos on ipod without a problem, but I can not forward it. When ever I touch the screen while video is playing, it pops up this ipod control like menu and there is a "STOP" menu on the left. I tried to skip this video to next, it'll just keep looping the current video.

Anyone has any idea what happen? I didn't set is as repeat 1.

When I first installed it, there's no problem like this.

  2. ok, if I understand you correctly, you tried to edit the pioneer.ini file for software bypass? If this is the case, then you need

    1. A formatted SD card with test mode directory/folder and nothing else.

    2. Insert your card and boot your X910/X710

    3. Once you get in WinCE mode, try to recalibrate by going to

My device -> Control panl -> Stylus ->Calibration and follow the instruction to recalibrate (very important since u can easily mess up with this small screen unit.

    4. Once its done, close the window and go to [My Flash Disk]

    5. and go to APL2

    6. and go to iGo, and you'll see a DATA file with a windows logo

    7. Click on it, and go to top [Edit] and [Copy]

    8. Now use the [<=] to go back to the My device window.

    9. Go to the Storage card and use [Edit] -> [Paste] then you'll have your DATA file in ur storage card (SD card)

    10. Turn off the unit, and use your PC/Laptop to open the SD card.

    11. Use WinRAR to open the DATA without extract them.

    then follow this

"Once you get the files to your SD and on your computer, open APL2, then iGo, and open the zipped file named DATA with winrar or something alike (do not unzip it). What you do is right click and use "open with". Go to the folder "project_config", in there, you'll see the pioneer.ini file. Open it and scroll down to the parking_brake_speed and change it to 256. Go back to the unit, same step to boost into windows. Go to my storage card, copy the DATA file, then go back out. Go into the same folder on the windows and paste the file. It will say there is a folder like that existed. Go ahead and replace it with the new one. That should be it. Exit and enjoy the video while driving."

    You should have everything done.

  3. There are several ways you can do to connect two wires. For speaker wires, I solder them and heat sink. To connect the mute to ground, I uses this wire clips. You can find about 3 of them comes with the unit as well. Just show that to electronic store and they'll get you a bunch. You can use butt connectors or caps too.

  4. When I was waiting for my unit, I had the same concern as well. It indeed is much easier than one can expect once you have all the hardware you need.

Just follow it and you'll have your unit hardware bypassed. Trust me, its easier than you expect. However, I would suggest you ground the wire to your "ground" wire instead of the "metal part of the car body" so it'll have a common ground.

  5. Thanks for the info.

I have tried to make some minor modes so far including: adding route cancellation button on the compass, a navigation mute button, speed limit/current speed/elevation, and the foreign language font. I have a complete backup file for the unit.

I like to do the Diaftia's mod but whenever I start reading the change log. I just easily get lost. I also like to start making some mod myself or incorporate other's mode but not the complete modifications. Ie, I like to add a "OFF" button on the map so I can turn the AV source OFF ( same as if you go AV source -> OFF at bottom right).

  6. As you can read from my previous post and seems like I found myself a way to display Asian characters in my X910BT

    Here's how:

    1. Unit: X910BT

    2. Software: 3.0 (never update since I bought it in March from Amazon]

    3. SD card: Kingston SDHC 4 GB

I use the file from this post: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=19394

    1. Download this .cab file from http://rapidshare.com/files/92952493/D_ ... t.cab.html

According to the post, its a Google DroidSansFallback.ttf font from Google Phone. It supports and is limited to Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

    2. Put the TestMode folder in your SD [the one you need to use to boot into TestMode]

    3. Put the SD card in your unit and boot it up into WinCE mode.

    4. Recalibrate touch screen. [i do this every time when I go in]

    5. Open up my storage [sD card location]

    6. Double Click on the D_ChineseSupportALLButInput.cab file

    a. the head unit will prompt a warning asking if you want to replace original file

    b. before you hit yes, please have a backup for your file.

    c. hit [yes for all]

    7. After it completes the installation, you'll no longer see the file in your SD card since its removed ( i have no idea why)

    8. Go the desktop page and you'll see a Tascal RegEdit

    9. I'm not sure why people doing the same hack uses other PHM register editor in their F-Series, but I assume Tascal RegiEdit is only offer in X-series.

    10. Double click on the Tascal RegEdit and go to

    a. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE] then click on

    b. [nls] and you'll see 2 files on the right, and click

    c. [defaultLCID] from the right section

    d. Click [Edit] on the top menu

    c. Click [Modify]

    e. It'll see a promp with a highlight on the origional value as 409 ( it displays in Hexadecimal with its binary number.

    f. Now edit the number by using the keyboard from the most right and bottom corner. Click on the keyboard and change the value to 404 for Traditional Chinese. You may find other values from the post

    g. Once its done, exit all window and reboot the unit

    11. Check your Ipod menu and you'll find the square gone and foreign characters up.

I also found the Contact which originally have foreign characters working properly now.

    Cheers!

    http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... sian+fonts

Thing is the registry editor file is no longer available. I am wondering if anyone still has the file or have anyone did install Asian font lately? Thanks!

  7. Model: X910BT

    Software Version: 3.0

SD card: Kingston SDHC card 4gb

    Here's what I did:

    1. Download the Branding.zip file in the root of my SD card.

    2. A 2.3 Testmode folder in the root of my SD card.

    3. Put the card in and boot into CEmode.

    4. Copy the Branding.zip file into myflash/apl2/iGo

    5. WinCE prompt a message ask me if I want to replace/override

    6. Yes, and it spent less than 1 minute to copy.

    7. Close the window and turn off the unit by turn off the car ignition(ACC)

    8. Restart the unit without any SD card insert

    9. Go to Map Visual Setting POI

    10. In fast food section I found McDonald with logo as well as Burger King.

    11. Adjust it to Medium

Am I doing this correct VBLUE42? I assume this is the update version since I can see McDonald POI now.

Quote from McDonald "Change is good" and "I'm lovin it"

Thanks VBLUE42. This is my first mode on my X910. :D
