  1. Just got the update installed on my Z110BT. This turns it 100% into a Z120BT/X920BT.

You can scroll through the music on the iPod, tap the directions in the top left of the map screen to speak the last command etc. Very pleased so far. Also, BT and Pandora Radio/BT streaming works perfectly on my iPhone 4. Did the software/map update, the 3.10 BT update and then the 3.11 BT update from the second SD card.

    Yay!

  2. Thank for the advice. Mine was letting me control the volume, but now that I think about it, it must have been something the installer did. I bought the PAC remote kit to run the steering wheel remote and had it installed the day before I loaded the update. I made one call, and noticed that I did not have volume controls. I may go back and see what he did because it was definitely working before he installed it. I figured it was something with the update.

He also did something to the bypass, somehow came disconnected when he was installing the PAC. Had to turnaround and have him fix it. Maybe that was it.

I think you're imagining things. The PAC unit just relays commands from the steering wheel. It doesn't do anything else.... to my knowledge.

  3. Before the update, when I was talking on the phone connected to bluetooth, I could control the volume of the background music. Up, down, no problem.

Well there is no way to do that on the 110 so I would really like to know how you were able to do it. Regardless, sense it can't be done on the 110 it also can't be done on the 120.

Yep you can't do that on the 110.

  4. I am sure this is an I.D.10.T question, but I was playing with the upgraded unit and turned on the Eco Graph. I can't for the life of me figure out how to turn it back off. I am sure it's very simple, but I must be missing something. Thanks for helping the helpless!!! :)

As I recall from my x920bt, it's under Map Views in settings, - where you pick 2D, 3D etc. It's in that menu, for some odd reason.

So it's not a quick on and off button on the screen somewhere? Seems odd, but I will look for that setting. Thanks!!!

No, switching views of any sort is not a quick switch, because Pioneer has the least user-friendly software, ever. It's truly no wonder people started to hate their navigation units. Their current hardware is quite good (in relation to the F700/900 X710/X910 crap), but their software leaves so much to be desired. Oh well... *sigh*

  6. bwolfe that last part is not true. That left-pointing arrow on the bottom of the iPod interface will take you back to the last menu. i.e. if you start your car, hit artist, album, and then the song name to start playing, you can hit the left-arrow at the bottom (next to "genre) to take you back to the album. Again, that's how it is on the x920bt....

Still need more info on the scroll-wheel on the right when in an actual album...

There is a left arrow? I must have missed it or its really small. Now I have to go check. Thanks for the info. :)

Hehe. Also, I edited my above post, so feel free to check that out on your navigation. :)

In the Youtube vide it's clear it's only 2 tracks, with different artwork. I suspect it works correctly a la z120BT and x920bt when in a "proper" album.

    ALSO,

For those that didn't notice, if you have the navigation muted, you can now tap the turn direction at the top left of the navi screen and it will speak the directions! This doesn't work on the z110bt, but it did on the x920bt, so I assume it will work on the z120bt. This is basically a shortcut to unmute the spoken navigation directions. This is a permanent unmute, so you'll need to bring up the pop-up menu to mute it again as needed.

  8. I wonder if it's iPod dependent? Seems very odd that it would not work on the Z110BT upgraded to Z120BT. On the X920BT it would also show the track names on the right-side over those next/previous track buttons. And then you could scroll through them to pick the track you want.

Definitely looking for more confirmation of this. I will be VERY disappointed if this doesn't carry from the Z110 to Z120 upgrade. I really used this feature a lot on the X920. :(

  9. For anyone that has received your update; did you also receive an operations manual for the upgrade? I received the media number card and a yellow leaflet. The yellow leaflet makes reference to the Operations Manual Addendum, but i have nothing and I can't find anything on the Pioneer web.... any ideas?

    its on pioneer's site dude http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... 20BT?tab=D

    just download it

I've tried scrolling on the right hand side playing ipod but i can't get it to work...

Seriously? Can anyone else chime in on this? I know for a fact you scan scroll the music on the X920BT.

  10. Someone wanted to see a video and here is my first attempt at this before.

Thanks for the video! Just so you know you can scroll the track list on the right hand side when using your iPod etc. It's very fun. :) It looks exactly the same as the X920BT. I'm just having a hard time plunking down $224 (including tax and basic shipping) when I just got the Z110BT...

    *sigh*

  11. Really enjoying my Z110BT since installing it today. Just like the X920BT, it took quite a few miles of driving out of the box for the GPS to get accurate. Very bizarre. Thought I was in California for a while (despite my living in Seattle). I like the unit very much, though the lip at the bottom is a little in the way..

Now, time to order me a Z120BT upgrade if nobody has any other ideas? :D

  12. OK, upgraders, is it worth it?

My maps are a little off, but mostly fine for now. If I upgrade it will be for the ipod/iphone enhancements. I seem to be able to operate fairly well right now. The biggest new feature seems music sphere. How is it? Is it better than the genius feature? I do use Pandora, and it would be nice if songs were displayed, but I'm fine just letting it run for now. Yes I know the video is out for the z120bt, but its hard to know how much of an improvement it is, so I would like to hear from those who have used both.

I can chime in here. I had my X920bt for a few days before deciding I preferred the size/layout of the Z110/Z120. So I JUST got my Z110 installed in my car. Took me just a minute to swap the cables as the harness etc is exactly the same between the X920BT and Z110/Z120.

The upgrade is DEFINITELY a mixed bag. Some of it really good, some of it not so good. I came from an F700BT, which was an utter nightmare for me. The X920bt, while I had it, was a lot of fun and I had no major complaints aside from the occasionally iffy navigation (map issues, of course).

The Z110BT I got because it was cheap and I could do the Z120 software upgrade. Currently, the Z110 feels very much like the F700 in terms of most things to do with iPod etc. Very familiar feeling. If you upgrade to the Z120 software, you lose the current iPod interface completely. I REALLY enjoyed using the X920BT because of the Pandora connection, and that in of itself is money. Whether you like the scrolling all over the place (see the X920BT etc) for scrolling albums is a VERY personal preference. It's definitely not as tidy as the F700/F900/X910/F710/Z110 etc interface. That said, I enjoyed the Pandora stuff so much I'll get the upgrade anyway....

  13. Well anything is possible but finding that person on this forum is going to be the challenge. And again, how many 2 GIG upgrades do you find on line anywhere?

Um. It's not unusual to find PC game demos approaching that size. I really don't see any reason why it's not available online. There's a lot of easy ways to approach it, like legitimate torrenting like Blizzard does with World of Warcraft patches etc.

And it's $200. Not much to ask to have it available for download.

  14. So who's going to crack it first? :D

Good luck with that, it's encrypted at the source and a specific code waiting on their server for a matched Device/Media 16 digit number.

Believe me. It can be cracked. No question/doubt about that.

In any case, I'll buy it as soon as I get my Z110BT tomorrow, since it's good to find out if the unit works etc before blowing another $200. I wish it were downloadable for $200 instead of waiting for it to ship... *sigh*
