  1. Well no joy. Tried performing update, but since my SD stopped recognizing songs / vids, it wouldn't even begin the update process. Tried multiple times, but to no avail. Used the reset button as well, but with no help. Is there a way, other than pressing reset, to do a full factory "hard" reset to restore unit to factory settings? This maybe the only way to do it short of sending unit back to Pioneer and asking for a replacement D3 instead.

  2. Well that's my newly learned fact of the day. Is that how you can tell the difference between stock HIDs and kits?

Sorry to dredge up an old topic, but anyway. To add to this, not 100%. There were and still are some halogen lenses that come from the factory with HID's installed. Ford was one of them on the 500 and early 2000's camry's had it too. The only thing they had different was a prism style lens instead of the crystal clear "diamondback" style you see on cars now for halogens. I hope that makes sense, lol.

Not at all lol. I'm just ignorant to different headlight styles, as like I mentioned before, I thought light output was the same across the board. So HID Kits in halogen housings = bad choice. Got it :D

Are there any laws against kits then? In NY the only law is anything with the slightest color is illegal. some cops tolerate 8000K however. but if it's that much of a danger to other drivers, they have to have some restrictions, no?

I know some spots in Jersey, the cops actually look for a sales receipt to not give you a ticket. This is because of the rash of factory HID thefts that we had. They usually don't bother you until you reach the 8000K range.

  3. My 2 favorite Pioneer people on eBay are HiFiAudioOnline and ElectronicsOulet.com These 2 sellers have excellent customer service, prices, and package deals. The first is in Delaware and the second is in Philadelphia, PA. I will always buy from these 2 vendors. They also maintain their own websites for sales as well. if you can't find it on eBay, make sure you check their sites too.

  5. Here's a program that allows you to convert virtually every type of audio / video format to work on the F-series via SD and USB. I recommend downloading the whole suite (only 25 megs) as this allows you to do more than just convert files. This allows you to download .flv files (youtube videos) and convert to MPEG4 format to view on the AVIC. Anyway, check it out and happy converting. http://dvdvideosoft.com/downloads/download-free-studio.htm

  6. I have an HTC Touch (Sprint) and I am having a problem syncing my contacts, so I was wondering if someone could upload a file of what it would look like if contacts synced correctly into this folder so I can just manually add all my contacts in. Just post here, PM me, MSN me [tycoonbob@Live], whichever. But it would be greatly appreciated.

--I just got my F90BT installed last night [minus the VSS and Reverse wires as I am not sure YET where they go] and I am playing around a lot so I soon hope to contribute a lot to these forums in due time.

    =]

I have the Treo 700Wx (Sprint). What I had to do was in the contacts edit page, under "Categories" make sure the "CarKit" box is checked.

  7. http://friends.xmradio.com/accesskey.aspx?kid=43252F12B3 Know somebody who works at XM? You can get family discounts or employee plans. Play around john.smith@xmradio.com, papa.smurf@xmradio.com, etc. Didn't try this, because I couldn't get a name right. Never thought to ask. Me am tarded.

Just tried jbutler@xmradio.com and it let me in.

All this gives you is extremely cheap radios. Does anyone know how to get discounted service (besides buying a yearly package)?
