  1. I figured out that mine failed at 3% because my flash drive had 46 corrupted files that couldn't be deleted, which in turn was causing some reboots and loss of data. Unfortunately that also somehow corrupted the small SDMLC drive that keeps the NN746UC image. I reloaded the NN746UC image only to find out that changed my machine code making my password invalid.

Does anyone know how to change the machine code?

Well despite my unit’s issues it is now up and running fully with the X-Series 3.01 software so that was a $99 learning experience.

  2. I have the F90BT, and well I tried to update to 3.0 but like others it got to 3% and failed.

After messing with the file system I ended up with a unit that would only go into the service menu.

After following this tread I can now get into the service menu and boot to testmode v2.3.

I followed the first post in this thread (I think to the letter) now my unit will boot (no splash screen) then sits at a black screen.

If I press menu the main menu screen does appear, but the only button that responds is destination, in which I get the disclaimer screen I press OK but it does nothing.

What am I missing or doing wrong?

    Thank you for your time,

    Robert

Thought I'd update this post. I solved my no splash screen and not booting up fully.

For anyone that is having a simular issue check out this post.

Now I'm having other issues, my machine code changed which means I need a new password for my 3.0 update (that I can't get) and when I go to the password screen the only button that responds is the cancel button.

If anyone has any kind of idea how to fix please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Robert

  3. I know that you can chose to set the POI as a via point or the go here now and get directions to it, but basically I want to know if the POI is in the direction I'm traveling or do I have to go out of my way to get to it before I chose to go to that POI or if I should chose another.

  4. I did some light searching so flame on if I should have looked harder.

I think the search for a POI is missing a feature that would be very helpful while traveling.

Since I can't program to save my life this would be a request of a kind soul.

So your driving from point A to point B and now need gas.

Easy do a search on gas stations along route, and of course find several that are a few miles away and some a ways away but...

Are they in the direction you are going or already behind you?

I would love it if it would show that you've passed or not but I think a North, South, West, or East indicator from one's current position would be a great add-on to the search results so one could decide to turn back or keep going forwards.

    i.e.

    SA 3.2mi South

    BP 7.4mi West

    K&N 12mi North

    and so on...

FYI i just used gas as an example I would like this for all POI searches.
