I got stuck at the 99% too

I just had to burn the update disc diffrent till I got one to work.

I got the 4th one to work and it picked up right at the 99% and finished.

It works just fine.

I got it to work by unziping the downloaded file and placeing the files one at a time into nero and then burning and ISO image on a cd-r

Am I the only one who thinks this is stupid?

When I put an entry into the address book and name it "ed's house" so it works with the voice command.

How do I know the address after the fact?

When I arrive, if the house doesn't look familiar how will I know the house #?

Am I missing something or is it just me?

How do I make it stop?

if I say call "who ever" It only works with the #'s in the address book not the phone book.

and it wont work in the av mode....

you shouldnt have to open the iso, just open nero, start smart, data dvd, select .iso then burn

 

if that doesnt work then you can always mount the image with say alcohol 120 and pull the files themselves off and burn them directly to the root of the dvd, but thats alot of work that you shouldnt have to do.

I know you shouldn't have to but if I didn't I got the 99% error, just wanted others to know how I got around it.

You must extract the zip file.

Copy the extracted files into nero or other program.

Don't just drop the whole folder, this gave me the 99% error.

Put the files into nero one at a time then burn the cd-r

Burn as iso image.

Worked for me.

I have a playlist I use in traffic called
"Drive like an ass"
The use pf good playlist is needed due to the slow interface.

The z1 is not perfect.

But I believe it is the best in dash double dinn unit availiable.

If I need to buy a new unit, I would get the same one.....z1

well it has been more tha 6 month since the last update. any word on a new one?

Oh forgot to add, I had the flasher bypass. It no longer will bypass the features. I'm going to ground the pin like ducati said.

Ok I downloaded the update and burned it to a cd-r as an iso using nero.

It got stuck at 99%!!!!!

Then I opened the iso image on my computer and copied the contents into nero and burned a cd-r as an iso and it worked!!!

If you get stuck at 99 you will need to do it that way.

I got the info here somewhere but I wanted to confirm it was the same for me!

 

Anyway first impesssion is the update helped. my wife would complain every time I tried to use the bluetooth.

I called her and just stated talking. I said I was on my way home and she said" you can't be in your car you sound good!"

Time will tell but so far I give it two thumbs up!

Cingular slvr phone. left speaker voice, mic on rearview mirror, small two seater car.

Wow that sounds like they really stand behind what they sell....

my bacxk up camera worked when i tested it out, so i ran teh wires and then tried it out and it won't work! I attached it to a vid input, and it didn't work either so i assumed it was the camera, however, when i tried putting a video source to the back up camera input, it didn't work either

Sounds identical to my problem and if Pioneer replace a Z1 because they can't fix it then I would think that there just is no fix for it.

I got the unit back and it is working good.
It stunk not having the unit but the pionner people were helpfull and all went well.

Mine left today to go back to pionner for the 3rd time. They did not fix it the first two times. I am starting to loose my patience.......

I just boxed mine up today to send in for service.ugg

I would check you wire tap, it may have split the factory wire creating an open condition.
Cut it out strip all 3 ends and make a new connection.
My .02 anyway it is where I would start.

I just spoke to pioneer service, the external guide speaker can only be used with the 5.1 set up. If you just plug it in it won't do anything.

I have the mic located in the dr. sunvisor facing the pass side of the car.
I have the speaker set so the voice only comes out the dr. side.
This is the best I have been able to get it but I still find it poor.
Everyone I try to talk to complains about the echo, If i turn the volume down till the echo is gone I cant hear them.
My car is a two seater so there are no rear speakers.
Anyone have any ideas I can try?
Should I try a diffrent phone?
I really want this feature to work so I'll try anything.

I have tried everything and still have echo.
It is unacceptable.
How do you adjust the mic. sensitivity?
I have not come across that setting.

I still have an echo problem with my bluetooth, I have tried all kinds of settings and if I turn it down till the echo is gone I cant hear.
I want to try an external dedicated speaker and mount it near my left ear,
I drive a two seater with a loud exhaust.
What type of plug do I need to use to hook it up to the rear of the unit?
Any sugestions on speaker?
Pioneer has one on the web site but has limited info amd no pic.

4 hour trip no stopping, no problems
I have gone on longer trips but 4hr. is the longest so far without turning off at all.

If you have the voice muted for directions it will not prompt you when you hit the voice command button.
It will still work but it wont prompt you.
