These seem to be password protected. Does anyone know the passwords.

Hey guys, I was wondering if there is a "user guide" of sorts for this mod. I am still trying to figure out all the little gems like the trip calc while navigating, how to access the screen with the speedo in the middle, etc.
-
Thank you Sir!

What speed cam/red light camera files are you guys using in the US? Do I just copy the files called Red_Light_Camera_us and Speed_Trap, or do I need the font files too?

yes

Maybe I'm missing something, but, I can't get the map changer to work. I created a new folder and named it maps_nt and copied the file. I downloaded the NT maps from another thread, but, I can't get them to fit on the AVIC. What am I doing wrong?
Simple, The Avic has only 2 gb of space on it so you cannot put the entire NT map on it as the size for the entire map is about 900 mb and you probably have only 200 mb left. Just install the map that you want to u7se such as, if you live in NY, only install the NY map. I live in Canada, and the map size is aprox 70 mb, so I was able to fit the entire Canada map on there but nothing else. If you want to go outside the map area, just switch back to TA
Perfect! Thanks for the help. I got it going. I just put in IL, IN, and WI since those are the three I drive through regularly.
IDT, this is a GREAT mod!!! I will give it the full work out this weekend when I drive around. Thanks you for all the hard work on this!

I am using the jr. mod and I love it. It has everything I want except the speed limit sign, house number, and speedcam warning. Can someone add that without the other stuff?

I saw that. I managed to get it updated to the official 3.02. I was running the X Series hack, but, since I still had warranty left and paid for the official update, I thought that I would use it. I also put the Keeper 6 in 1 mod on to try it out. I was running IDT's in the X series. At this point, I would like to see GTI's mods on 3.0

Thanks! I am downloading it as we speak. I have the US unit and am downloading the F90BT files

Ok. I did a backup of My Flashdisc before upgrading to X Series 3.0. I then backed up the new flashdisk after upgrading. In the process I deleted the original backup of 2.0 and now need it to upgrade to the official 3.0 which I purchased from Pioneer. Where can I get my hands on the entire 2.0?
-
What differences do you see between the official update and the X series hack that we are running? I have the official update sitting here, just not sure that i want to deal with all the hassle. Will IDT's mods still work in the official upgrade?

Get well soon. This is just a hobby after all, please remember that. Health and family always needs to come first.
I agree. Take some time off. Thanks for all the work.

You could be using the wrong testmode file. There are two floating around, one for 2.0, 2.01 and one for 2.006, 3.xxxx

I have an F90BT and am running 3.010. I downloaded the files, the revised data zip, and it still keeps rebooting at the map screen. I just reverted back to my backup of the flash disk.
I am completely perplexed as to why its doing this on some and not on others. Can you answer these questions for me?:
1. Have you ever modded before putting these mods on?
2. When you "reverted back to your backup of the flash disk" was that an unmodded backup?
3. If you are back to the original unmodded (ever) config can you try just doing the font (bnt.ttf) and the data.zip and see if you have the same problems?
Thanks!
1. I ran IDT's and GTI Matt's mods in 2.0. The 3.0 is from here, not the official Pioneer release, that is showing shipped on their site. I am no pro, by any stretch of the imagination, but I get the jist. I do not feel comfortable editing my own files yet.
2. After updating to 3.01, i backed it up. There were no mods on the flashdisk.
3. I tried just doing the fonts and data.zip to find the same issue. I reverted back to the backup and then installed IDT's latest (8/8/09) mod. That worked as far as I could tell. No reboot so far. I have not taken the car out for a spin. I'll let you know what happens tomorrow after I drive around. Thanks for all your work!!!
PS, I just took the car for a spin around the neighborhood and all is well.

The 03 Passat and Jetta are similar in terms of how the dash is constructed around the radio. I used parts from: http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_sc/s ... AT_03.html
They are great to deal with. I used the Pioneer cage, the PAC adapters for the stereo and steering wheel controls, and Metra 40-EU10 antenna adapter. THe keys that they sell are a good price too for removing the old stereo.
-
I may depend on what version of the PAC you have. For example, my old PAC didnt give enough juice through the accy connection and I had to run a 12v switched wire. I ordered a new PAC adapter because I wanted to rewire everything and the new one works perfectly. Just a thought.
-
The PAC unit probably needs to have the software updated to the new X Series Software. I would contact PAC to see about an update. Although, I would wait until the official Pioneer release because you are running pirated software at this point. Kinda like going back to the bank you robbed to exchange red dyed money.
-
The PAC adapters will allow you to plug and play. Just follow the instructions. You will need the steering wheel control adapters if you want to keep that functionality. You should solder as opposed to clamp the connections. More secure and better current flow (especially important for VSS). You will need the dash kit. As far as Sirius, you will need the Pioneer Sirius unit, stock will not work.

Try reapplying 3.0040 and see if that works.
-
I was successful in upgrading to 3.010 and everything worked fine. I then did the speedcam mod and started getting an error when attempting to navigate and I could not get past the navigation address input. I went back and reapplied the 3.0 and then the 3.010. Been smooth sailing since. I am waiting for a complete mod package to roll out and be tested before I mess with the unit again.

I think that this tutorial needs to be completely re-written. It is a great tutorial, don't get me wrong, but there are quite a few people that are having problems with the instructions. I even had some problems with the instructions and I've had the F900BT since the week it was first released and I'm a computer engineering grad student!
The tutorial should be consolidated, it could probably be written in four or five steps with pictures accompanying each step. It should also be written for someone who has almost no knowledge of computers, because we ALL know that even people who have no idea how to copy and paste are going to attempt this update, and with an easier to understand tutorial we should be able to reduce some of the many posts from confused people.
Just my two cents.
Already done
