  1. Wel 2 reasons, firstly after installation I can check if all is well and secondly it's can be reset without resetting the entire unit. But you're right it's a minor plus. The three biggest pluspoint are the speed of the thing, both screen&boot, splitscreen view of the navi which I think looks better whatever view I choose and the removable front. Ofcourse everybody has to make the choice for themselves but the screen & navi design is just more my thing.
  2. Well I made a list of the good/bad and ugly. I then made an informed gut decision and bought the NX7000, yes it's not as customisable as the F900BT but it's not as necessary as with the F900BT. Found a shop with them both side by side, the JVC feels solid. The screen lag of the F900BT(even with the EU1.9 firmware) was very noticable when compared to the JVC. Yes the screen is MUCH better of the F900BT because of the 800x480 res, but the JVC only looks bad by comparison and I don't have them both in my car Also the the extra screen with the gyro/speed/etc settings and the ability to rese
  3. Here in US/Canada we don't have the gyro/ speed sensor. Must be required for Teleatlas map. Here JVC uses Navteq. But, I'm in the same boat as you, i'm in between the JVC and the F900BT. Charles Don't think I'd be choosing the JVC without the speedpulse & gyro. The pioneer is quite good with the latest update and the display is noticably better! Don't think that the map manufacturer is the decider wether or not there is a gyro. But since there are a lot tunnels and bad gps reception areas here which is annoying if you have to backtrack every time you miss the exit becaus
  4. Bummer, the JVC is pulling ahead at the moment. At the moment the only pro's over the JVC for me are that the Pioneer is a prettier unit, the display is supposed to be better and ofcourse the resources that can be found on this forum . That's still not much
  5. My HTC Touch HD works fully on the F900BT, however I remember reading something about not seeing the navigation during calling. The JVC goes into split screen when calling and navigating. About the status page, so one cannot see if it works?! That's not very usefull, is it. Also is reading/making SMS(texting) possible on the F900BT? It is on the JVC, well according to the manual, haven't found a shop yet which has the NX7000 as demo.
  6. First of all hi! I already found a lot on this forum and thanks to all of you for that! I'm in the market for a nav unit and I'm undecided about the Pioneer F900BT and the JVC NX7000(both european versions). I already know the differences between the two and have played with the F900BT already. Basicly they are the same, if you pick up the bluetooth adapter for the JVC. I do have questions however about the dead reckoning and phone use during navigation. 1) The JVC manual states it can make/receive calls during navigation. I read here that the F900 cannot do that?! 2) The JVC also h
