  1. Well, after having it for 7 months, both my wife and I got sick and tired of the battery life, the delayed touch screen, and the slow computer processing when playing movies via SD card. Although the aesthetics look fantastic, but the userability just sucked. I do regret purchasing this item for the MSRP of 400+. I managed to resell it for half that much. Went ahead and purchased the new GARMIN NUVI 885T. It has everything that Pioneer has plus FM transmitter, and allows you to use MSN direct w/o utilizing the wire harness that the AVIC came with. The only downfall is that it has a small
  2. I got my unit back the 2nd time around. This time the battery life improved quite a bit. It was at 15 min before, now after several tests..it's a consistent 1 hour to 1 hr and 10 min or so. I noticed on the work order that they upgraded the firmware to the 2.0 (even though it's for the other AVIC F series) and they upgraded my Bluetooth to 3.3. All in all, I'm not complaining anymore. I've concluded that the screen is the culprit on draining the battery.
  3. After receiving back my unit from Pioneer Service. They actually made my battery life last longer. From the old 15 min, now it lasts a good ol'1 hour! They upgraded the firm ware to 2.0 and Bluetooth firmware to 3.3
  4. Bad news, I just received my Avic back after almost a month from Pioneer Service. SAME PROBLEM! The battery now lasts about 30-40 min. But now my BLUETOOTH doesn't work! I'm very frustrated w/their quality of service and demanded that they atleast CHECK EVERYTHING before sending it back. Now it's on it's way back to them. They better replace the WHOLE UNIT.
  5. Well, I finally took the bite and sent in my 1.5 month old AVIC F500BT to the Pioneer Service Dept. in Long Beach. I spoke w/them and they said to just send it in along w/your proof of purchase (Receipt) and a description of the problem. They said it is an internal problem and will repair it and send it back to me within 3-4 weeks time. Luckily I still have this warranty, otherwise I would have been out of luck on returning it back to Circuit City.
  6. I'm having the same issue w/my battery. I bought a replacement but still the same problem. I have no problem when it's plugged in w/a constant source.
  7. Has anyone encountered their battery not lasting more than 10-15 minutes?! The unit works great when plugged in w/the cigarette adapter but when running on its own battery, it dies quickly. I even ordered a new one from Pioneer, fully charged it before use. Still the same problem as the original battery. Does it have to do w/the Bluetooth taking up more power? The unit works fine w/a direct power source. No complaints, but when running on battery, it lasts about 10-15 min.
