  1. After further testing this is what I found. I took the same song ripped from the original CD to an MP3 and tested all the inputs. Original CD - Obviously excellent quality and volume MP3 on a data CD - excellent quality and volume MP3 on SD – lower quality and volume compared to original MP3 on USB - lower quality and volume compared to original I had another person swap from the original CD and MP3 CD without me knowing which was which and I could not tell the difference. This shows that the AVIC has the ability to play MP3s very well. I just don’t understand why they seem l
  2. What SLA setting do you guy use on the USB /SD?
  3. I use Acid Pro to rip the CDs.
  4. I played the original cd and mp3 off the computer. I’m a tech guy; and I love mp3s. I have played mp3s on countless systems home and auto for years. The Avic to me has the largest difference in sound that I have ever heard. However I love the unit and it is staying in the car for all the features it provides.
  5. I agree I love the convenience. I just wish the Avic was closer to the quality MP3 sound I had from my previous Eclipse 3000.
  6. I have noticed a large quality difference from a cd to a MP3 file. I ripped a song at the highest quality (320 kbps) and when played back to back on the computer (with quality speakers) the difference is negligible. However when played back to back on the Avic 700 with the same EQ setting there is a large quality and volume difference. I have to have the SLA set to +3 on the MP3 to come close to the same volume but there is no fix for the quality. I have owned other MP3/CD decks that don’t seem to have as large of a change. Have others experienced a similar quality difference?
