how do you reset a d3? mine keeps freezing all of a sudden and shows odd lines on the map...

I just installed my D3 today and everything works great! I go to change the background image so I burned 6 backgrounds I got from here and 2 I made onto a CD-R. I put the disk in and it only shows the 2 images I made. I thought that was wierd but I clicked one anyway and it tells me Disk Read Error. WTF? It just read the disk! Whats the problem?
