  1. Thanks man, it might be a while to find a fiberglass dude, I dont think they use the internet out here :/ I dont have a wire diagram for the backup camera, but I can tell you that mine had 2 wires. 1 Rca video that got run down the rear driver side of the hatch, across the roof to the rear driver side pillar, down into the trim along the door bottom, and up into the driver kick panel where the rest of the AVIC cable squid ended. Normally reverse cameras are wired to only come on with the reverse lights, so power is tapped from those. I dunno where my power was tapped. Just make sure it
  2. Wanted to share my custom install for the Pioneer AVIC F500bt Nav and backup camera system into a 2008 Impreza OBS. I chose this Nav system because its removable (street parking), backup camera input, 2nd video in, nav, bluetooth, ipod, AND! theres a huge community of owners doing upgrades and sick customization here. I was originally looking for a double din replacement unit, but I decided that I didnt want to lose the steering wheel controls and 6 cd changer. When the install is done, the f500bt will be inside of a small fiberglass box that is pushed up against the front windshield
  3. the reverse trigger is a brown/yellow wire in the passengers kick panel. having problems with parking brake grounding- any suggestions?
  4. madsonp- all sounds good. but do I have a mute wire if this is a f500bt? it isnt a double DIN install. its a suction cup mount with a squid of wires coming out of the cradle.
  5. Doing an install on an f500bt tomorrow. Up above the rearview mirror if it matters. Would like locations on the VSS, Reverse, Parking brake (if bypassing just send to ground?). Found from searching that on the STI model, VSS was pin 31, the pink/green wire on the back of the instrument cluster. Not sure if this is true for base models also. THANKS! Ill post pictures too, this should be pretty sick.
  6. theres a speed bypass for the 500, you need to wire a ground and jiggle some software. you just gotta do a search for those other questions.
  7. via pioneer website: Connecting 2 cameras to the navigation system is possible, however there are some restrictions. One camera can be used as a dead angle camera, like for trucks, busses or camper vans. In this case the dead angle camera is connected to the REAR VIEW CAMERA INPUT. This means that priority is given to this camera, and that the reverse signal input and the positive wire (+) of the camera are to be connected to the +15 of the right indicator. So when the indicator is activated, the camera is powered ON and the rear view is activated on the display. There is only one mi
  8. thanks terron, ill have to order some new switches. i only have a pile of used SPST's. sorry my questions are kinda general and noobish- i have no idea what kind of connections i will need to make or mounts to fabricate, the unit wont arrive for another 5 days does anyone know if there is a way to get that cradle to mount into a double din? pics of the space and wiring that i am going to be working with [/url]
  9. Hello everybody. This site is super helpful, you have answered all the initial questions I had about the pioneer f-series, as a result, I'm waiting to take delivery. I really like the install that was written up by wyatterp777 for his mazda 3 ...but I ended up buying a 2008 Subaru Impreza. My goal is to have an install that is stealthed like texaselement AND still removable (the gf gets lost all the time in her car). This link that will show you what my interior looks like. I am alright with having to remove the stock 6 disc changer because doesnt sound too great and
