  1. Yet, this is the ONLY device on the market today that is capable of modding the interface. My Nav unit right now with all my mods is UNTOUCHED in features and in graphics to anything that is on the market today, and believe me I have looked because if there is a unit that looks and fuctions better than what I have done with it, I will buy it in a heartbeat. Trust me though, I have looked! I been wanting to just build my own unit but with the same dimensions as the AVIC, so far though I have other things to take care of in the time being but since iGo 8.3 exists in different variants I kno
  2. What are the differences other than updated maps? If there is no real difference in speed or updated interface for the AVIC then what will be the point of fixing something that isn't broken? Honestly the only thing that does need fixing is the parrot bluetooth which they won't ever fix or release. The phone software is terrible and the colorful icons don't help, honestly they should of included a list view than vs a grid view and if the grid view was available why couldn't they add photo support? I can tell you why honestly, because they used the cheapest hardware to get this device t
  3. Have you tried reinstalling the update, also try downgrading to 2.6 again. If you cannot resolve it that way, try undergoing in testmode and see if any files are out of place, and restoring any that might be missing. I really never had any problems like you prescribe, but thats what I would do if I had any issues that I just couldn't figure out.
  4. I think I will just be getting this unit then: http://www.clarion.com/us/en/products/2010/multimedia/navigation/NX500/us-en-product-pf_1259394334521.html I tried the bluetooth on this device at a local store today and it was superb, not only is the system super quick to respond but it's pretty much a AVIC on steroids for 649.99 at the local store. It also has bluetooth stereo so if I want to pair a phone that contains plenty of music it will appear in the bluetooth menu which I found pretty cool. I am really upset though because my entire car is Pioneer brand excluding the cap, I have
  5. Im already on 3.0 but the map updates I have are for 2008/2009 and although it's a big improvement from 2.6 I still feel like the bluetooth portion of the unit has been extremely lacking, like there is no option for contact list view, you simply have a grid mode with generic color icons. I would like to have some kind of list view, same way when a iPod is hooked up I can view the list to the left, and select the first starting letter on the right. I think this will make the phonebook more user friendly and also load up faster since it has no icons to load in a list view. I also tried my ph
  6. The problems I have with the AVIC have been upsetting me since I have the unit, not only does the bluetooth software has me the most upset, but trying to get Pioneer to do anything has pretty much left the nastiest taste in my mouth especially when I paid full price for the unit when I first caught my eye on it. 1. Does anyone know of some third party software to run on the AVIC and replace it's current firmware with something more stable, IE some kind of Linux distro centric to running on a ARM processor with VLC (VideoLAN) as the central platform for music and video? 2. Can anything
  7. Shipped, but they changed the order date, and also they are trying to rerun my credit card after they already took out 69.05. Hmm well hopefully this update fixes most of the problems, if not Ebay here I come.
  8. I was told by Pioneer that my product will ship in August of this year, but had no real schedule time of shipment, I was willing to wait because of this, I made my order on July 03 of this year over the phone because of it. It is August 3rd now and I still been getting the same information I was getting a month back. I would of least preferred to hear from the operator a "we have started shipment of the new firmware/map updates the system you just need to wait for the system to hit your order" then that's understandable, but to give me the same information as before and after I confront them a
  9. Order date: 07/03/2009 Status: Awaiting shipment I am at the point of cancelling this order and demanding a unit that actually works, I expect my order to say product shipped with a tracking number by the end of the week, if not they can go ahead and stick this firmware and unit up their arse. I paid full price for the AVIC-700BT when it came out and at first it was a pretty good system, but over time problems with bluetooth and overall sluggish response of system performance including random freeze ups that it unlocks itself from time to time makes this unit more of a road hazard to
