My installer did the quick post-July mod on my Oct 07 Z1 - and that works fine. I can watch movies and icons are enabled etc during driving. However, the auto-dimming feature does not work. When I turn my lights on, the Z1 does not auto-dim. Now, my installer says that this is due to the override that we did. I'm not sure that that makes any sense. Doesn't to me.... anyone have any thoughts? I haven't seen any posts to the contrary - that the autodimming on the Z1 is affected by the post-July override. thx dba

Ripped a few movies then burned them to DVD +R and the Z1 plays them perfectly. Ripped one ( Pirates of Caribbean 2 ) to DVD - which needed to be Dual Layer - the unit won't play it. Plays in my home DVD player though. Anyone run into this as well with DL DVDs ?

Just had the z1 installed however i need some custom faceplate work done ( too embarrassed to post pics right now ). Had an installer rough it in. Installed the z1, BT, XM/traffic nav, ipod, RV Camera. FYI, I was worried the ipod would have poor performance, but it is working fine, search is fast ( against my 4gig Nano ). Really happy with it. The BT calling ( with my Sprint 700p ) works fully functional ( transfer all contacts in one swoop ), but caller hears an echo. I don't hear any echo. Car: Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Cab. almost exactly as mivey.

Has anyone replaced the lame incoming call image on the Z1 yet? It is so lame Sheesh. I would imagine it would be like mod'ing the boot image etc.... dba

Sorry, i posted this in the wrong forum previously. Deleted the old one. I need a good installer for my 2002 carrera 4 cab. I have the z1, ipod adapter, BT adapter on the way. I checked with one local shop here in Salt Lake City, but they wanted far too much and they said if I didn't buy from them, it would void the Pioneer warranty. Sheeesh. They wanted $2400 for the whole thing installed. Any help is greatly appreciated. Not sure if I want to take this on and try it myself. Never done it before. dba
