The setting is already at IPOD in av1. Do I still need the cable that has the usb and 3 rca cables?

I have an f90bt premier hooked up in my car. It came with the required cable. The guys who did the work on my car hooked up the USB cable from my ipod. I see the information on my screen but get no audio or video, it just shows me that the song is supposed to be playing. Only the USB cable, not the type of cable that is shown in the question for the buy with the f900. Do I have to have the cable from the IPOD with the usb and the 3 rca cables in order to get video and audio?
