Thanks for the kind offer, but I'm out in San Francisco, and will be in Dallas for the next week or so.

I give up. I'm quite computer savvy, however, I'm at winds end. No matter what I do: I've downloaded the files multiple times, upgraded winRAR, etc. I always get the same error messages when un-raring the files from BigFloppy's FTP. Is it possible that the files on the FTP server are in fact corrupt? Please help

which version of win rar do you have? The latest? Might be time for an update. I have seen this when newer versions of win rar compress a file and an older version uncompresses it. Just a thought. Knowing Big Floppy, he is probably using the latest version. I'm using ver 3.71, to which I just upgraded. Still confused as to what is going on.

Ok, so I downloaded the files from BigFloppy's FTP (thanks for sharing!) and have had no luck un-raring them. I receive the following errors: ! D:\Z2\Z2Bypassed.part02.rar: Packed data CRC failed in Z2Bypassed.tib. The volume is corrupt ! D:\Z2\Z2Bypassed.part03.rar: Packed data CRC failed in Z2Bypassed.tib. The volume is corrupt ! D:\Z2\Z2Bypassed.part05.rar: Packed data CRC failed in Z2Bypassed.tib. The volume is corrupt ! D:\Z2\Z2Bypassed.part08.rar: Packed data CRC failed in Z2Bypassed.tib. The volume is corrupt ! D:\Z2\Z2Bypassed.part09.rar: CRC failed in Z2Bypassed.tib

Huh? This an image off of a Z2 hard drive to apply onto your Z1 to upgrade it to in essence be a Z2. Or am I missing something?

The price is not going to be $1k, but below $1,500. Which means it will likely cost $1,400 or so. In that price range how about the Eclipse AVN5435, a much nicer looking unit that can be had for about $1,200. I just don't see this new Pioneer piece selling well for anything over $900 since it visually appears to be a step-backwards from the D1/D2 or the Z1 design. I myself much prefer the D1/D2 series in terms of aesthetics, and having worked in car audio I know that aesthetics sells.
Looks they went backwards in the design category. Very cheap looking too. Looks like a miniture TV set made in the 1970's.
+1 It looks like crap. What was Pioneer thinking in shrinking the LCD??? In today’s mobile/portable market it's all about having the biggest screen. I think consumers are going to ignore this product as there are far better pieces at this price point with more impressive screens.
