This all was covered in a post that I started when I had the same problem. Answer: your battery is not staying charged overnight or not at all. Have your battery checked. You will find out that you need a new battery. In order for the unit to boot it needs more then 9.5 volts sustained. One of the posts above even said after driving the car( charging the battery) the unit worked. It seems to simple but its true.

You can select a group of songs or vidoes or individual videos in Itunes and right click mouse. Select get info. Select options. Make sure "remember playback position" is not seleced. It does not matter what model IPOD you have. You can also set this option when setting up play lists. After you make the changes syn. IPOD with ITUNES.

I have the same setup as you but do not have a problem. (8500 and 90BT) Before returning the unit I would try another radar detector which would be easier to do. If I had to bet on it I would say it is the radar.

I am talking about the car battery being tested at a place like Sears. During the start it was not putting out a constant 10+ volts which the avic needs to start. If the avic detects less then 10 volts it will shut down. I had Sears install a new batery and problem solved.

I would like to thank Maverickster for all the work he has done regarding these MODS. I installed all of them on a 90BT and it works great. This may be asking to much but can you make a separate screen pop up that only has the MPH on it and have the font about five times as large as it is now. Would be nice to have it with route or without route set. This would take the place of a head up display I was going to buy for the speed. My problem is solved. I had the battery checked and it was bad. Replaced battery and ererything is fine. Now I have to go through all the settings and change where needed. 411 is great.

UPDATE After my car stands for awhile and I try to start it up the 90BT splash screen and the button and knob illumination lights up and then after about 2 seconds the button and knob illumination goes dead and then in another 10 seconds the screen goes blank. If I move the car a short distance and shut the car off and restart it the unit boots up normally. Then after driving 25 miles with the system working flawlessly I park the car for a little while and then try to start the car the splash screen and the button and knob illumination lights up and then same thing happens they d

I do not have any trouble starting the car. But, last weekend when I was going through the settings on the unit and had the key in ACC position for about 45 minutes to an hour I could not start the car and had to jump it. After that happened I started to have this boot problem. The battery light does not go on. If there is a loose wire don't you think that the unit would die while driving. Once the unit boots correctly it will stay on until I park the car again.

Can we get some help with this problem. I do not want to remove the unit and send it back to Pioneer.

Just so I have the right information. What is the correct way to wire the backup camera. This was installed in a SUV an is a License plate frame with built-in TKO BH-LPC18 camera.

OK I will do that. I just wanted to make sure it is not something I was doing wrong.
