  1. Just checking in to see how things are going. I have not looked at other pages. I will make these replies brief since I am swamped at work but thought I would do what I can with the little time I have. :)

Add a big ol' me too to this string. Has anyone documented this?

The features were never really documented except in this thread. AutoKarta shows you the time that it would have taken to go on an old route if the route was recalculated. It will show the distance and if its Faster/Slower.

anyone know how to get red light cameras and speed traps to delete? I try to delete them and they will not go away using the software? I also added one accidently at my house location and cannot delete it either.

Use the plan mode screen for this. Place the cursor on the camera to be deleted or added. If no camera exists in the location the cursor is then it will show add camera. If one does exist under the cursor then it will show edit camera where you can delete. You get to the add/delete camera by clicking the cursor (target looking icon) menu button.

I have something that comes up as a "can't turn" symbol on mine with an audible alert. I can't figure out where to turn it off. Any ideas what this is?

That is called turn restrictions. The map data was buggy and would make it alert incorrectly in the USA. I set it to off by default but you might have enabled it. I think its under warnings.

Hey does anybody know how to change the tilt and zoom settings so that I can always see the landscape and sky? Also, is there a way to do it from within the unit with this updated mod package? I used to know how to do it a while back but wasn't real happy with the scenery but the background on the setup looks so nice! I've searched all the settings and and don't see the option.

On a second note, what about 3D cars? I've changed to different cars in the settings and it still shows as the red arrow. Is there a location where I should have car files? Not sure about that one but would like to have that option as well. Or even make a model of my car somehow.

Thanks Diafta for such an AWESOME package!!!

Showing sky can come up if you turn off smartzoom. When you set the sky manually by clicking on the map it will stay there. If you want to show sky and smartzoom there is another modder (Chuck88?) that is working on that.

3D cars will work with my mods. You just have to install them. I was never a fan of how it would start copying models of cars all over the place and even after I removed them from my test environment, stayed behind. I was a fan of the arrow. But feel free to copy any 3D cars mods to mine and it will work.

    Hey guys

I have no voice direction now since installing this and no options for voices etc in the menu?

    Anyone else?

Voice guidance is muted by default. Turn off default Mute guidance and make sure that the TTS file you are using exists and it should work. I remember one other user saying they did not have guidance but I think it was a configuration problem someplace. If all else fails you can use the backup that I posted someplace in this thread and restore that if you continue to have problems. Just make sure to install my mods over the bakcup since I think that backup was taken with 3.4 installed.

    Good luck all!

  2. Hey Alex,

congratulations ang good luck from germany, too!! I wish you all the best for family and job!!

Thanks for all the good work and the best mod of all!!!

Are you able to answer my last two questions (PM) without your unit?

    Dozer

Do a search for "hide" or "av hide". I want to say its at the bottom of the settings.ui file but it could be navigatemap.ui.

Not sure what you mean about the address button. If you mean the quick menu button that is a but complex but there are offset settings already in the options.

With over 1200 posts, I'd say you have contributed a whole lot. I also thank you for your latest mod. I finally have a unit I am pleased with and have been doing little to change it. It's great. Thanks for your help and guidance along the way. ...And congrats on the new addition. All the best to your future.

Thanks Harvey! Used to have almost a thousand a while back. My version 1 mods thread was deleted and when they restored it all my posts were still gone. I probably have over 2K but there is no way to prove that. ;)

Yes, your contribution to the AVIC community is great. I don't know what I'd be doing without you.

Thanks man... always good to know you are making an impact someplace. ;)

  3. Alex, thanks for your efforts over the years. I've just loaded your latest mod on my F910BT and it is running brilliantly. I've made a small contribution as a gesture of my thanks. All the best with your young family and work.

    Geoff

Wow! Thank you so much Geoff! That was very generous of you and I greatly appreciate the donation!

Thank you as well to everyone for the warm send off. I am glad you all have enjoyed my mods over the years and have found them useful. Hopefully this won't be the last you see of me. I am definitely a fan of Pioneer and will keep an eye on them. :)

  4. Hello All-

Sorry I have been so out of touch lately. I have a newborn baby in my life (now two weeks old) along with a 4 year old. Add to that that I work for a startup which is 1 month away from releasing our first product and things are quite busy. Add yet another complication to the mix and that is that I sold the car which my AVIC was in so I can't do any testing. It had to go with the package so to speak. I am hoping to get another AVIC for my new car but none of the current ones seem to be as moddable as the older versions. I will continue to keep a lookout though.

If anyone is interested in taking over this project then feel free. I would be happy to give some pointers on the code wherever I can. You should be fairly advanced with this stuff as the code got rather complex towards the end.

    Thanks,

    Alex

  5. Thanks! I will definitely give it a shot soon. When I was referring to Nav screens, I was refering to the Nav warning screens that ask you to press OK every time the maps start up. Also does this mod include any map updates? Will my ipod still work under the AV settings, subwoofer? etc.

I'm on the fence on if I should get the CND-FM200 update first and then add your mods, or forget the update because your mods just rock! :D

    Thanks for the quick reply!

The nav warning screens are not mod specific. You need the "Carver" mods. Do a search for nag screen warning or something. You can also do a search for threads by "carver".

My mods do not include maps (the download would be over 1gb). You can get the maps from other threads. My mods include the license files you need.

Yes your ipod will work fine.

You just need to make sure you are running 3.x. If that is via pioneer or by downloading the update from this forum its all the same.

  6. Hi Guys,

First time posting, long time reader.

Want to take the plunge and begin modding my F700. I wanted to ask if in this mod, the nav screens and parking brake mods have been included as well.

    Thanks!

Not sure what you mean by nav screens but yes the parking brake mods are done and I have customized a bunch of screens. I guarantee that if you install you will fall in love with your AVIC again. ;)

  7. Hi D

I would like to see the car on the map road, or how can i select a spicific car type (Jeep, 4x4, rac car, .......)

    How / Where can I select a car ?

    Regards;

I chose not to include them since I do not use them myself. There is a lot of overhead in the file sized and I don't like how it changes files on the system. A lot of headache for something I personally never use.

    Alex

  8. Silly question here, but can I install this from a USB stick? I don't intend to make it bootable, but I've got my own testmode SD card with some "extras" I'd like to keep.

Just move that stuff into a folder. So create a folder called "extras" or whatever... copy the contents of the SD card into it. Then extract my contents to the SD card. My mods dont care if there are items on the SD card but I have to put that in the directions to avoid conflicts with other stuff that might be on the card.

My installer runs from \Storage Card\... I am not sure how a USB mounts. If it mounts with \Storage Card\ then it will work fine.

  9. Pretty sure it's just the CNSD-200FM update Pioneer sells. Supposed to be primarily a map update, guess they bumped the APL version with it. See http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/28583-pioneer-2010-maps-cnsd-200fm/page__view__findpost__p__212683 for the version bumps "clams" saw when installed on their deck.

    Awesome. Thanks man. Appreciate it.

Then absolutely yes. My mods will work with 4.0.

  10. Here is a screenshot

    avic_firmware.JPG

I have searched and searched (even going to look on the US, EU and AU pioneer support sites) for 4.0 firmware. I just dont see anything. Can anyone provide information on this? I thought I remember reading someplace that there was a regional specific update that was being called 4.0 and was fairly minor. But searching here has yielded nothing.

  11. From the map or by hitting the map button, I click on the folder in the upper left corner to bring up the main menu. Once that is up, click address. When putting in the city, if different than where I am, it will still show, but I have gotten lucky and had the city show at the top to click on. Once back at the address screen, I click the house number. This is where I get stuck since I cannot click the Ok or Finished button after punching in the house number.

Care to test for me? I cant do it. PM me and I will send you a link to a data.zip.

  12. Diaftia,

I love the mod and it is working great, but for the first time, when I am looking to put a route in, the signing for the station I am on (which is usually Sirius), stays up covering the buttons on the bottom right side, so like when I put in a street name then want to put in the street number, the "OK" button is covered up.

Anyone else have this? I also just updated the data file as everything else had been fine up till then.

Sounds like the AVIcon is not turning on and off properly. Its a weird thing to get it to work correctly in the screens yet not have it show where its not supposed to. Can you tell me the exact button sequences you are taking where this happens?

    Alex

  13. Brilliant, thanks for that. Unfortunately it didn't fix this problem but it's good to know I have the right basemap file now anyway.

One other bit of info - if I change the regional settings to km (from miles) the speed limit gets scaled again. So for example in a 30mph limit area it shows 48 when set to miles and 77 when set to km. All very odd.

Wait does this happen when a speedcam is up? Or does this happen in one of the signs on the right side?

  14. I did get a full set of EU maps (I think it was 8GB or thereabouts), but it didn't have a Basemap file, so not sure what to do. I'm tempted to just delete it but a bit scared of bricking the unit.

    http://rapidshare.com/files/457112227/Basemap.fbl

Andy. The above is a link to my EU basemap file.

Definitely dont delete it. Your unit wont boot. Use ovalball's basemap (thanks for that).

  15. One thought - I left the Basemap.fbl from the US version, as the EU maps I downloaded didn't include a Basemap file. Is it possible the speed limit units come from this file?

Wow, yeah you have a hybrid of things going on. Anything is possible. I would start with that though. Try to find a whole set of maps. Because each of the values you are talking about are system read values. If the one reading from the map data (speed limit) is off then that seems like it would be a good place to start.

  16. I've been holding out for a long time on updating my f90, I added your mod yesterday and I'm absolutely blown away. I've got a lot to learn, you have really moved the navigation using this unit forward quite a bit.

A map switching inquiry, can maps be kept in separate folders on the SD cad and switched? Or can maps be mixed between the flash storage and sd storage(some of each Tele Atlas/Navteq)?

    http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/29707-teleatlas-201006-north-america/

This thread has some sys text settings on changing map storage location, I was just wondering what/how/if it could be leveraged to keep full sets of both Tele atlas and navteq available.

Yes. A sys.txt is included in my mods. Since you have installed already just grab the sys.txt off your AVIC and copy it to an SD card. Then take a look at it and edit to your liking. All of the map switcher stuff is towards the bottom. You just need to alter the paths to where your maps reside.

  17. Firstly thanks for the mod, really enjoying using it.

My question is about the speed limit signs - I have an EU F900BT unit with a UK map, yet the speed limit signs (and spoken voice warning triggers) are in KPH. For example a 70mph motorway limit is shown as 110. Other measurements such as current speed are displayed correctly in MPH. I've searched through the options several times and can't find a way to change this, is it fixable please?

That is strange that they are showing in different units. The system gets the unit values fron the regional measurement unit settings. The only difference between the speed limit and the current speed is that the speed limit comes from the map data and the current speed comes from the GPS. They are not hard coded as a type in my code. They pull from the system and whatever unit it set to appears. Are you using the original maps? Have you tried playing with the measurement units in regional?

  18. Thanks for the mod! I just installed it and it works great! I love the new features!

I do have 1 issue though, 2 out of 3 times I start up the nav my touch screen freezes and there is nothing I can do until i restart the car. any ideas?

    thanks!

That is odd. The only thing I can think of is to try the install again. One time I installed and it was acting funny. Installed again and it was fine.

Also give the screen a calibration. There could be something off in the calibration file.
