  1. I'm having this exact same issue. I turn it on and it goes to the "Enter Password" screen, but I cannot type on the touch screen and all of the letters on the keyboard are grayed out. Can you confirm that it was an incorrect wiring issue? Or was there something else going on that caused your system to lock? Any help is much appreciated.
  2. One of the main advantages to having an ipod (for me) is that you to select an artist or album via voice commands. Not sure about the genre - I'll have to try that out.
  3. I think there are a few features in the Settings menu related to the nav features that you will not be able to access unless the parking brake is on, but the entering of addresses and watching ipod video are the main ones. I was kind of surprised to find out that if you install a rearview camera with the system, the video feed for the camera is available while you are driving down the road at any speed. It's kind of fun and interesting, but from a safety point of view is probably just as distracting as watching a video on your ipod while driving.
  4. I just put mine in a padded case and it just sits on the bottom. Probably not as secure as it should be, but I think its enough to keep it safe.
  5. FYI - I unplugged my PESWIPS and the problem went away. I can adjust the volume and continue to use the touch screen. I'm hoping it was just because I didn't have it hooked up all the way yet. I'm going to try hooking it up his weekend and I'll report back.
  6. I'm experiencing the exact same problem. Everything works properly unless I adjust the volume with the volume knob. The touch screen then becomes unresponsive. If I push the "Menu" button to go back to the main menu, the touch screen then responds normally. The only unique aspects of my install so far: I have a PESWIPS plugged into the Remote port in the back of the head unit, but i have not finished wiring up the steering wheel controls. I have grounded the unit using the ground wire from the original wiring harness instead of going directly to the chassis. Any suggestions
