  1. Traffic update info does only work in Melbourne, Sydney & Brisbane via SUNA at the moment. My F900BT will only pick up SUNA in Sydney and Brisbane when the new maps come out August 2009. I suppose if you don't live in these areas it might be another thing you can take off the cons list.
  2. If you go this way and get it working let us know. I would interested in this too so I can put one in my wifes car. Cost me $3000AU to get the F900BT, reverse camera, steering controls and install but you do get free new maps in August. Would be a lot less if I bought it from the US. I'm not convinced that the unit would fully functional in Australia that's why I haven't parted with my money. From the posts in the forums there seems to be hardware issues for traffic, FM radio. Also loading the maps seems like a pain. I personally had hoped that I could just copy a backup from my AU F
  3. My phone wouldn't transfer contact so I followed the instructions on the links above and copied them manually using testmode. Pioneer couldn't give me any solution other than to buy another phone. I uploaded my contacts to Outlook from my mobile, exported to a csv file, deleted the unwanted columns in Excel and added rows for contacts with multiple phone numbers. I then modified the phone numbers in notepad because excel chopped the 0 off the front (I just used the replace feature, took seconds). The phone numbers now have no spaces or dashes in between and there are no special characte
  4. First of all thanks to JustinS for sending me his Australia Testmode file. I got booted into testmode perfectly, and have backed up the system. I was looking at the process to load into testmode and the MapDBInfo.txt file and couldn't quite figure out why I needed to copy these files over. I didn't need the US, French or Spanish voice files because I'm using the Australia version. So, I took a punt and deleted the lang & voice folders and edited MapDBInfo.txt to look like this. Area: AU IntegrationVersion: 01.000600 I saved the MapDBInfo.txt file which is now the only
  5. Hi, I really want to get testmode working with my unit so that I can upload contacts to the unit but I'm worried about stuffing up the system. Does anyone know if the testmode files (on page 1) work with the Australian F900BT? Cheers
  6. The F900BT asks me to send the business card, when I try to send the business card from the phone via bluetooth the F900BT isn't listed. Also when I try to search for the F900BT the phone says the bluetooth is busy, which it is because it's connected to the F900BT so that I can access the phone screen. I gave up with this a while ago. I will give the manual version a go. It's a pity that Pioneer didn't write a program for this to be done for the noobs of this world. I suppose while I'm learning to do this I might do a few other mods too.
  7. Hi, I have a F900BT (Australian version) installed. My phone, a Samsung A501 works okay answering calls but I can't upload my contacts. Is there any way to upload my contacts without using a bluetooth mobile? I've tried all my relatives phones, and none of them work either. Cheers, Michael
  8. We have a simliar system called SUNA which has just been installed in Melbourne, Sydney & Brisbane I've heard that it will transmits accidents, road closures etc. The only problem is that the F900BT unit will not use this system until the new maps are released in August 09. It doesn't seem like anyone is working on this problem so I suppose I will just wait until the new maps appear and keep my fingers crossed that it diverts me around the problem.
  9. Anyone have any idea if this is possible?
  10. Hi, I posted this in general and got a reply from BorisM who said maybe someone could do a script hack for me. Anyone interested in working on this? "I’m a new AVIC-F900BT user (Santa was good to me) in Brisbane, Australia and I would like to set my F900BT to avoid an area permanently. I can’t find a setting anywhere in the manual or system for this. A right turn at the end of Coronation drive will be closed for 1½ years and it’s a major intersection used by the route calculator. The area is also not easy to navigate for alternative routes due to the volume of traffic etc.
  11. Hi, I have an AVIC-F900BT in Australia and would like to know if anyone has any recommendations for a new Telstra NextG mobile phone that works with the AVIC-F900BT. I got the Parrot compatibilty list from Pioneer AU but it's pretty out of date and there aren't many NEXTG phone on it. I'm currently using a Samsung A501 which works fine for sending and receiving calls but won't sync contacts or display the network name. Also is there anyway to increase the mic volume. Callers to my mobile complain that they can't here me very well. The Unit only came with a PDF manual which isn't
