  1. i have an avic d1 and i'm haing a problem.. yesterday and today i got in the car, turned it on, and my display was showing the compass, speed, and clock display. i did not choose this display, it just booted up this way. the first time it did this, i pushed the map button and chose the map display and i thought it was a fluke, today it did it again, went back to the speed, clock, and compass on its own. anyone know why? software? ... thanks, robert
  2. hello, i just bought a new 2009 toyota corolla s, 5 speed. i have an avic d1 from my scion which i want to install in the corolla. I want to hook up the vss wire and interface the steering wheel controls. i have a pac interface from my 2008 scion tc, as well as the scion/toyota harness . has anyone been behind the dash of a 2009 corolla s? and does anyone know what the wire colors are or where they're located for the vss? or steering wheel control wires? or how to take the dash apart? thanks. robert
  3. anyone remove the upgraded pioneer radio from a 2008 scion tc with the factory sub in the wheel well, and install an aftermarket stereo such as a pioneer avic d1? my question is, will the factory sub still work? and does the factory sub get the sound signal through the wiring harness behind the radio? also need to know what the color is for the vss wire.
  4. this is exactly what happened to my d1, and it still happens intermitently, i dont know why, maybe a compatibility issue? i dont know. i changed out the camera, and the problem still exisists. i wish someone could figure this out. i have the audiovox license plate camera as well

  6. I installed a avic D1 in my 2007 Tundra, I used a ipod ib100 interface and an audiovox license plate rear camera. now and again when putting my truck into reverse, the pioneer switches to the rear camera input, and the screen or picture gets scrambled. this problem is intermittent. I thought it was the camera or the connections, so i purchased another new camera and re-installed everything again. I contacted Pioneer, they told me to remove the nav and ship it to them for repairs at a cost of 200 dollars. My concern is that because the problem is intermittent, they will miss the problem and cha
  7. I own a 2008 scion tc, I also own a avic d1. I want to install the avic in the tc, I need to know the color code of the speed sensor wire behind the radio. I also have the pioneer factory upgraded stereo in the car with the factory subwoofer, will the factory sub wire up to my avic? has anyone adapted an avic to a 2008 tc with the factory sub? I also want to purchase an GEX-P10XMT xm tuner. my tc also has the ipod interface in the car center console, this interface charges the ipod and fully controls the ipod from the fatory head unit, will this interface work with my avic? or do i need to pur
  8. thanks. i found it behind the radio in the harness for the steering wheel controls, thanks. while installing my avic d1 and removing the factory 6 speaker system, I found an extra wire that looks like a antenna plug in the dash that I unplugged from the factory radio, I think this wire is for the mp3 input located in the center console, but I'm not sure. anybody know?
  9. Hello I own a 2007 toyota 4runner and plan on installing a pioneer avic d1. I already performed the bypass for the parking brake wire and the spare wire grounding trick, and need to find out where the vehicle speed sensor wire is located. my 4runner has the standard 6 speaker system with no audio controls on the steering wheel. also does anyone know how to take apart the dash to gain access to the radio, it looks very tricky... thanks for your help. rob
  10. thank you for the feedback, I installed it last night, I found both the vss wires in both of your mentioned locations and I checked the yellow wire in the radio harness to ground while the car was stopped and the voltage was zero, once i drove the car the voltage came up to 7.26 ac volts and 6.26 dc volts. is this correct? and once the voltage peaked out it never raised anymore even while speed increased. I also performed the bypass which works very well. thanks robert
  11. I own a 2006 scion tc and purchased a pioneer avic d1, I havent begun my install yet, and am curious what wires from the nav I need to connect to the car outside of the standard audio harness wires. such as the vss and the reverse sensor wires, parking brake wires etc? where do I find all of these non-standard wires. my car does have the built in auto volume increasing function in my factory pioneer radio. also I found an adapter online for then steering wheel buttons, is this hard to install?
