  1. ok so after purchasing my app radio da02 from the crutch,i have come to find out its not compatible with my 3 gs.i read somewhere that it would work but it must have been wrong.i have a jailbroken 3gs 5.1.1 and have download app. ext..my 3gs will play ipod and pandora as well as bluetooth for phone(mic is horrible and not worth trying to use :( though).and i am ok with that for now till me and the wife can afford to upgrade to the iphone 4s.we purchased it as a blackfriday sale at crutchfield for $159 and a $20 of,so for $139 shipped to my door i can deal with that :) as her oem deck was broken and only able to play radio with no ipod control.

so my question is if i had a itouch 4 would i be able to use the app functions?the gps is the biggest i would like to have working, data to the receiver is not that important to me.i tried to search but cant seam to find much info, also tried pioneer but they keep putting me on hold for ever.thanks for any info the site is great

You should be able to with a 4th generation iPod touch. I currently have an iPhone 5 so I'm SOL so I'm using an old 3GS for Pandora & iPod. I even jailbroke it & nothing seems to work with the 3GS but at least the most important things like the iPod & Pandora functions work, right? Haha. According to Pioneer the 4th gen iPod Touch really should work.

  2. The iPhone creates that interface and then sent it to the appradio by video cable, the original appradio cable send both audio and video by the look a like s-video cable, if you use the normal usb cable you'll miss the interface and audio.. that's why you get that black screen.. :? i've soldered one of the cables inside the dock connector of the black appradio cable lol..

Alright well that makes sense then. I've ordered a replacement off eBay so I guess I'll just have to deal with the radio until that gets here..

  3. Has anyone had any success with this with the app radio DA01? I want to know if it's just something I'm doing wrong or is there something wrong with my unit. I've updated all the firmware to the latest.. When I plug in the iPhone via a normal white USB cable because I think the one that came with it has gone bad.. It'll recognize the phone and launch appradio app but then it's just a black screen.. If I hit the apps or ipod buttons on the home screen the appradio just shows a blank black screen. I can play the radio just fine.

  4. I think Pioneer's website says 4th gen only for that. I would suggest getting a broken screen iPhone (an iPod Classic will play music I believe, but not sure about AdvancedApp Mode. Pioneer is not consistent on their website with what does and does not work) if you want a cheap solution for full control. Since you have an iPhone 5, you are not due up for a new phone any time I'd imagine, soon so that will be the cheapest solution. If you are made of money, though, I'd graduate to a big boy (ha, couldn't resist!) phone and Android. With the advent of ARLiberator for Android, you have unlimited control of the phone.

I was considering after looking around.. A 32gb iPod touch would be pretty inexpensive and it's compatible with the unit's iPod app. Only thing is since I wouldn't have data on there I wouldn't be able to do anything else with it until the iPhone 5 jailbreak comes out & I can setup my iPhone as a mobile hotspot for the touch.

  5. 1. I don't understand...it sounds like you already tried and want to know if there's a workaround?

    2. Pioneer does not have an adapter for iPhone 5 since they changed the connector. I'm not sure you have options other than Bluetooth calls from it.

    3. I'll let an avid Apple user answer this. I'm not sure.

I haven't received the appradio yet so I haven't tried anything yet. I was wondering if I hooked up my 30GB iPod classic will the appradio display the music under the iPod app?

  6. I made a mistake & won an AppRadio off eBay for 165 bucks in like-new condition. Good price.. But after doing some research I think.. I realized that I'm unable to plug in my classic iPod and be able to see my music.. I've spoke with the seller & he's refusing to cancel the transaction.. Whatever. So here's a few questions I have for you guys..

    1. Will my classic iPod work? Will it be able to display the music from it? If so.. would I be able to play video from it?

    2. I have an iPhone 5.. I completely forgot about this when bidding I just assumed it'd work with all iPhones.. What are my options here?

    3. I use iTunes Match primarily, if it does work with the iPhone 5 will it be able to display the music from iTunes Match?

  7. I've looked and I haven't seen anyone else with this issue. Everyone else seems to get the boot screen and then it dies. I don't get any screen at all.. I turn the car on.. I hear it boot up and the button lights turn on but nothing else. It's just a black screen.

Do you guys think this is a hardware issue or do you think a restore would work?

I've tried holding onto menu + map + eject + reset when the device boots but I don't get anything.. I've tried putting it into test mode.. it doesn't boot up with any screens.

  8. Does anyone else have the issue where your songs are at different volumes so you constantly have to be adjusting your volume depending on the song you're listening to on your iPod? It's fine if you're listening to the iPod itself because sound check is on but there's no way to enable sound check on the unit.. Does anyone know of a workaround?

  9. Yeah, I've been having the same issue too and sometimes if I'd turn hard the speakers would kick back in. I found that if you just simply unplug it and plug it back it, it generally fixes it.

Are you saying to just use the USB cable for the iPhone/iPod straight into the USB cable on the unit's end and that'll prevent this issue?
