so do we have a way to hook up 2 ipods so that they can both be controlled?

I have the N2.5(did the chip so its and N3 now) and I want to get the N4. I already have the 80 gig Ipod with the interface for the N3. I know that the N4 does not use the same interface. Will it? I would like to be able to plug in my iphone and my ipod. Can I use the direct cable for the ipod and the I pod interface for the iphone?
