  1. Well my avox jukebox has really been testing my patience for the last two days. It is almost completely unresponsive to the remote. I tried everything to get it to turn or use any of the other commands and it works in like 1 out 50 attempts. I know all my power wiring in the car is correct. I even tried it in the house with the original power adaptor and it just turns on whenver it feels like it. And even after it does, more than half the time it becomes unresponsive after that. I dont think its the remote because its brand new and a new battery. I think it might be the board on jukebox itself
  2. isnt that to look something up if you know the telephone number?
  3. no, no skipping at all. I mounted the unit in my glove box and secured it with some velcro tape so it wont move, but its still removable if necessary..
  4. Ok, this is really dumb but i havent figured out how i can look up a phone number of a poi. I noticed that sometimes, itll ticker at the bottom of the map screen along with the address, but not always. Also once i route to that poi, then i can go under destination history and check registration and itll give me the number there, but there should be a more easier way. Please help!
  5. hmm well my unit doesnt seem to do what yours does. If i just turn the car off, and not power the avox down, it will not resume from where i left off. And I dont really see how it could because the power is being taken away before it can save any of the data to its memory. secondly, my ff and rw have still been very flakey and now since i got the IR extender, my unit has become even more flakey in that its not turning on every time. I double checked all my wiriing and its all in tact, and the unit even does light up initially when i turn the car on so i know its getting juice, but it jus
  6. actually for me it will not resume where i left off if i just turn the car off. I have to power the unit down first. Are you sure its not resuming from the place prior to the last time (when you shut it down properly). Second question: Are you guys able to fast forward and rewind without any issues? The unit locks up for me everytime i try to do either. Im playing avi files if that makes a difference..
  7. thanks i just went to the vantec homepage and downloaded the update.
  8. Ok so I installed the avox in my car with the D2 over the weekend. everything went smoothly overall. However the psp car charger adaptor wasnt fitting in snugly to the back of the avox so i went to radioshack and found a better fitting plug and connected that instead. As far as usability, doesnt it hurt the HD everytime the car shuts off cuz its just killing power to the HD abruptly? Also, is there a way to have the avox remember where you left off in a video so that it can resume the next time you startup? (i havent really read through all the instructions). And it doesnt play WMV files?
  9. will do. 1 quick question that comes to mind is that once i buy the psp car charger, can i just splice it right into any 12v power source?
  10. i just think it'd be easier to control while driving as opposed to the infrared remote. Dont have to fumble around looking for it and point it in the right direction etc..But if thats all i have to work with, i can definitely live with it.. I just got the avox delivered today. Cant wait to get home and try it out!
  11. Does anyone know if I can get a wired remote for the avox? I know that theres an infrared extension that allows me to control the unit with the remote, but i wanted something wired that I could possibly mount on or around my steering wheel to control the avox. Any thoughts??
