Is the default background on the D3 a darker color screen with light color lines running horizontally? Or is there something wrong with mine?

Yea, I know the bypass wire is in the missing harness, I'm just trying to figure out if I have bought a good unit or a lemon before I shell out the extra dough for the RCA plug (they run around $50 on ebay). I bought it anyway because I couldn't pass it up for the money. Thanks for the reply spider2k. I'll keep an update on what I find...

whats up guys? I just picked up a AVIC-D3 unit at my local pawn shop. It is missing the RCA plug and the GPS antenna. It does have the nav discs though. I have installed it in my truck and the radio functions work as they should, however, when I put in a DVD movie I can hear sound but only see a grey screen. Is this because I don't have the RCA plug? What features am I not going to be able to access until I get one of these plugs. Any insight will be appreciated. Thanks!
