  1. This is the update I use and works pretty God. Will share in till it gets overwhelmed.

Http:/1dev.ms/1HoVUnK Goimg :'( to take a while to zip up.

    Have it named FX3.zip

  2. It's really to bad as it seems the days of file sharing are over here. I do miss the days.....

If I end up ordering it from that ebay guy I will gladly share here. After all, none of the software is his either. I do understand though the fact he put it all together but that's what THIS community used to do.

  3. I would start with a CE update and flash to a good working flash. Mine just freaked out and I used FX3.1. It is available via torrent, http://thepiratebay.sx/torrent/5546342. Follow the following instructions:

Unrar file, put all files on an SD card with a min. 2gb size. (Root) You should end up with two folders, testmode and My Flash Disk, plus a few ce files.

Insert card into Avic. Turn on unit and immediately hold the menu, map, eject and reset buttons. When screen goes black or stays black, release reset button while still holding other three. This takes you to CE update.

Using the single knob, up/down to select options, push to select item.

    Select wince upgrade

Select update SD (Format) Unit will read then write data. Wait until unit says "restart" lower center of screen.

Leaving the SD card in, reset unit using reset button.

Unit will boot into Windows CE. (On the screen) Press start - programs - explorer.

Navigate to "Storage card/My Flash Disk. Hit file - select all then file - copy.

Navigate back to root, then go to "Flash Disk"

    select file - paste

    select overwrite all.

It will show that it could take hours to copy but it does it in under 20 minutes.

Restart unit, select language then voice, unit will restart.

Enjoy! Not a ton of bells and whistles with this flash, but it is nice and fast and pretty darn stable. Plus it will get rid of your nags/ etc.

    Good Luck.

  4. I'm assuming you activated your MSN via website or phone.

Did you verify MSN Direct is available in your area? Know anyone else with it that receives it ok?

Your antenna is also the MSN antenna. Usually no problem unless you have the HD Radio module. In this case, you need to use an antenna splitter to provide antenna to HD and antenna to the head unit for MSN (Or use a 2nd antenna). All I can think of at the moment.

  5. I guess I'm the only one with this problem.

I'm going to reinstall the 3.0 update via the x910 My Flash Disk and testmode.

Then I'll install IDT 4.0 and see what happens. Weird. I think it has to do with day/night and 3d color schemes....

I had the same problem. But don't think it was the same problem as you said you completely deleted your flashdisc. I did not and had old schemes. Very bad things....

  6. Damn, Mine just started the reboot problem. By what I have gathered, my problem may be fixed with the file delete fix, as I am doing a constant reboot at splash screen, not every 5 minutes, or whatever.

My head unit is sitting out in the driveway (in truck of course), SD card with Test Mode files installd, and doing it's constant reboot in hopes it gets to the point where it will enter testmode. Mine would reboot over and over, and twice in 2 days, it actually rebooted to a user interface. I would have to guess at least 50 tries before it got there.

Will let you know if it works.

  7. Everyone has their own opinion so here is mine since you're asking for them.

The D3 was great by all means, but the F series is by far superior in technology. Sure, no XM traffic but MSNDirect traffic has better, or more widespread coverage. X.Mm traffic is $12 or so/month, MSNDirect is $124.00/Lifetime.

F-Series has built in blue tooth, and the F90BT even includes an Ipod cable. Nav is internal flash memory as opposed to swapping discs continuously.

Version 2.0 really speeds up the F series. I know there is more, just all I can think of at the moment. After checking out a friend's F90BT for a couple weeks while I borrowed his car, I immediately got one for my daily driver, transplanting my D3 into the Motor home. Hope this helps a little.
