Nope, the unit powers on when key is in and turned or powers off when key is taken out. Does not stay on. This is why I find it weird.

ok, finally got connects 2 and did the install correctly. Everything working..... now battery seems to be draining. Any ideas?

Avic 900 bt draining battery after an install on 07 GTI. I used connects 2 wiring harness and did the wire bypass for DVD and Map while driving. Is there something I did wrong?

Thanks, I saw that thread, but I do not have neither pc or connects 2. Guess your right about the VW in Subject and so forth. I think I will just stand by. Thanks for the help. I already ordered my connects 2, its just been over a month since it arrived so I kinda gave up on it.

Makes sense, would you happen to know the color of another ACC?

Thats what I was thinking so I tried playing around with the connections. The yellow is the battery/constant 12V and the red is suppose to be the ACC but I just can't get it to work with the key. It seems to have a mind of its own.

Its for a 07 VW GTI. Wiring harness is a metra brand from Circuit city. Sorry I do not have the exact number of the part.

I am working on an 07 GTI, trying to install the f900bt. I bought the metra wiring harness from circuit city yesterday, but apparently the system is turning on by itself with no key in the ignition switch. Its just always on and I can't turn it off. Can you help me with which wire I could fix this with?

I connected radio and the power is on before I even put the key in. It just stays on. when I disconnect the yellow or red wire, they cut off, if I unplug the antenna, it cuts off, if everything is connected it is on, no key needed. Can someone help me trouble shoot this?
