  1. I just spoke with pioneer tech support and they said I do not need to install the vss wire b/c the unit has a gyro sensor that can take care of calcuations and such. I have a 2003 Mercedes Benz E55 Amg which does not have a vss wire and runs through a canbus system. If you take into the sensor wires off the wheels then the abs and traction control don't work and mess up too. Pioneer told me also not to tape into those wires. just wanted to hear your thoughts guys and if this is indeed true. I know the unit will work without hooking it up and so will the GPS but he tells me that I will not loose any quality. I asked him what if I went underneath a tunnel, he said the gyro sensor would help to continue to work so you eta, etc. would still be accurate BUT you would loose satellite signal (obviously ;) )

  2. I called up a good soure and found out no cross over is needed. The tweeters are run in parallel with the speakers from factory. So when I get the wires in the back trunk there is just the power and ground wire for the from left front speaker (for example). When tweeter and the speaker are run in parallel there is already a bass blocker that was attached to the tweeter in order to prevent this high low mixup and blowing the tweeter. Therefore there is no need for a crossover cause the bass blocker is protecting the tweeters. =) tis true?

  5. hehe jimmy actually i have everything installed and everything works great except for the VSS wire now.. thats all I need... The fiber optic cable goes to the speakers amps in the trunk.. from this location WIRES WIRES WIRES run to the speakers... all u have to do is clip those wires and run them to your headunit.. works great!!!

I'm sooooo sick of people thinking a mercedes is impossible to install a head unit on when its actually pretty simple, especially using factory speakers... where there is will there is always a way!

All i need is the VSS wire and we will be set folks please please please help me find it, although the GPS is working good without it...
  6. I'm sorry to hassle you with this but i needs LOTS of help. I need the VSS and reverse wire for a 2003 Mercedes Benz E55 AMG. Also where are they located, specifically? Also, a terminal that is always supplied with power?
Could I do this right of the mercedes wiring harness on my command unit? my stereo is the harmon logic without the navigation.

I am using a AVIC Z1... The reason I ask is cause i heard there are only two spots where u can hit a 12V power source the rest are like 5V or something..

    thanks in advance
