Yeah that whole "why doesn't CarPlay control my radio" is just stupid. CARPLAY IS USED TO CONTROL THE PHONE FROM THE RADIO, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!!!

Ok folks, I'm proclaiming this effort dead! Clearly Mike had moved on and no one is taking up the development on this until further notice. It is a dead project and there will be no updates. No need to contribute to this thread any longer unless something happens. Let's please move on.

The App Radio also does not use BT while in CarPlay mode.

OK, I can confirm that you have to be "parked" to have the keyboard icon enabled in CarPlay.

 

CarPlay seems to think you are parked if you ground the parking wire on the unit. You don't need the double pulse. My Appradio 4 is the US model.

Have you tested this bypass while moving? In the past the unit would eventually lock you out after some time if you just ground the wire.

There is no keyboard while in CarPlay mode.

Ok what's wirh all the stuip rumors about the developer here? Do any of you spreading this crap have any proof of what you're spreading?

It never came along for iOS7 so I doubt it will for iOS8.

It would certainly be cool as it was with the first gen F series. I was a part of this effort it it was certainly exciting. Unfortunatly until someone with the know how does the same with the current units its not possible.

That unit was hackable. These units are not.

Per your first post you didn't have the proper bypass. That's why I rwsponded the way I did. The bypass proceeder is well documented here.

The proper bypass might work.

Guys there is only one mod that deals with this and that is me. However I work two jobs and can't be on here 24 hours a day. I have delt with all of re offending post that are on here for now but there will be more. If any of you really want to help, PM JasonH and request mod status to help deal with this problem. If we can get 5 or 10 mods this problem will go away. One word of caution however: this forum is arranged in such a fasion that it is easy to delete entire threads by accident when trying to delete post from a spammer. If you get mod status you need to let me know through PM so I can give proper instructions on how to deal with the problem.

It has gotten worse, i too have reported many. Very annoying. Moderators should delete em as soon as reported. I am on here daily and would offer to be a spam moderator.

Guys, how does this work if using Pandora as your music source? Can you select Pandora from the head unit then go into Car Play and use maps with no interruption or interference?
