I have the head unit for AVIC-N1 but do not have the hide away unit will the head unit still work without the hide away? Please let me know with any advice or help. Thanks, Rock

I just got this system from a friend and I try hooking it up and no power. The thing is that I only have the display unit do I need the hideaway for it to work? If anyone has any advice or suggestion it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
