  1. Tonight I had some free time and tried to troubleshoot this problem. I also tried a usb thumb drive...it works just fine. I may just go this route and forgo using speech recognition (which i'm not sure i'd use all that much and i'll forgo album art, which i don't care about at all. I do care about the organization aspect, but I might just say f-it. I don't have any sd cards so i didn't try one, but I'm guessing one would work. I have an external av source (DVD player), but I didn't have a chance to try it. The hard reset of the iphone while it is plugged in didn't work. A hard
  2. When you go to get an ipod remember that only a handful of them work with the f series. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=w ... k26NzmlHFw
  3. I just installed my f700bt a couple of days ago and I was pretty happy with how I could plug in my iphone (1st generation) and use the ipod side of things through the radio. Now when I plug it in it doesn't get recognized by the headunit (doesn't show up in the av source menu). -I checked that the cables are in correctly. -The iphone gives me the normal warning about it not being a supported device and would i like to switch to airplane mode. -The iphone is recognized via bluetooth in about 2 minutes after bootup. -I've tried plugging it in before turning the car on and after turning
  4. Maybe we are going about this the wrong way. Is there away to get a script to run at a specific point? Could we trigger a script when you press whatever things cause this message to come up? This script would do the button press for you...
  5. We were exactly right. Swtched the mute wire to the right location and everything works.
  6. I bet I looked at the diagram, unseated the wire from the harness, go distracted, looked at the same picture on the diagram, and put it back in the same hole. We'll find out in a few hours.
  7. I believe that I might have mixed up the pictures...oh well. I'll check it tomorrow. I also found out that the 4th gen ipd isn't compatible. I guess i'll figure something else out.
  8. I just installed an F700bt in my subaru sti. I used the scosche harness and soldered/headshrink wrapped everything when I put together the harness. I wired did the hardware bypass with the mute wire and wired the mute wire and the parking brake wire to ground on the harness. The unit work as it should, but the mute box displays in the upper right hand corner and no av sources will play (radio or ipod). I do get sound in the form of button press dings and if i dial someone via bluetooth I can hear the ringing through my speakers. I'm guessing there is something wrong with the way I d
  9. Yeah I almost got one for $350 at amazon about 3 weeks ago. On a whim I asked Pacific Stereo if their best price guarantee would work with this and they responded saying that they would get back to me. In addition they said that the unit they sold me is warrantied for 1 year. I know for a fact that pioneer only warranties stuff that is sold through authorized online dealers (bb, etc.) and there are only 4 or 5 of them (the others in the list on pioneers . Pacific Stereo is not one of them. But in essence they promised me a 1 year warranty in that email.
  10. I just ordered my new (not refurb) f700bt from pacificstereo.com Looks like a newer outfit under the name of the old B&M chain. They got good reviews and shipped the same day (with tracking) that i ordered. I'll let you all know how it goes. I paid $409 + free UPS ground shipping.
  11. What about buying here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/ ... dition=new Look at the second vendor listed. It's listed as Amazon.com . Is that reputable enough. I'm considering buying this way.
