  1. I just installed a Audiovox ACA200 rear view camera with my Avic-x910BT stereo. The instructions for the camera said to attach the power wire to the reverse light wire, therefore the camera only turns on when I shift into reverse. So when I try to activate the camera via the head unit while I'm driving forward the camera doesn't turn on. If I wire the camera to a constant power supply instead of the reverse lights the camera would be powered anytime the ignition is on. Would this be ok or could this cause damage to the camera over time?

You could also wire it to a switch AND the reverse light. That way it will automatically turn on when in reverse, plus you can just switch it on anytime. You'd want to install a one-way resistor to the power tap from the reverse light so when you activate the switch it won't turn on that reverse lamp. I am about to install a backup cam to my F700bt and plan to wire this way.

  2. Abb-solutely phenomenal work! I sure do appreciate your continued efforts to make improvements to this "ancient" piece of hardware.

Since I've figured out the sd card I was using was corrupting files and putting all sorts of gremlins in my AVIC I'm ready to mod it again. I was about to download and install v4 until reading about v5...do you have an eta on v5?

Thanks again man, and you should teach those amateurs at Pioneer a thing or two! ;)

  3. Try using a different sd card. Also make sure it is freshly formatted to fat32. I was using the same sd card for over a year and it appeared to be working. However it was secretly corrupting files during the transfer process leaving with error messages and reboots. I used another card, cleared the flash memory, and re-applied 3.1. Now everything works perfectly!

  4. Well after much trial and error and trying to copy of multiple versions of files, I've concluded the SD card I was using to flash was corrupted. Somehow it was read and formatted by my Win7 PC with no problems. However it would corrupt the files during the transfer process to the AVIC.

I borrowed the SD card my friend uses to flash his and everything works fine now...I can even connect my Droid X via BT and successfully loaded my contacts! I haven't used those functions in a year because I didn't realize the SD was corrupt, thought I had a bum AVIC.

So I guess the moral is if you are having stange problems try to rule out any possible variable even if it appears to be working. You never know where the gremlins are!

I applied the 3.01 update found Here and installed the 2010 maps. When I pair my DroidX running Froyo 2.2 the above error message alerts about Tel.exe. I've tried replacing that file with one from another software version with no results.

I've tried to delete the pairing and start over. After I enter the PIN and it connects then it requests phonebook access from my Android. That's when the AVIC crashes and reboots. Is there another file associated with this pairing/phonebook process other than Tel.exe that should be replaced? How can this problem be present since I just did a fresh format, install WINCE, and copied over the fresh Flash Disk files?

    Thanks for the help :)

  6. I get the message "Update failed" in red, bottom center. Haven't been able to get into testmode since the last tweak which applied 3.1, 2009.6 maps, nav warning screen disable. Any ideas to get around this?

UPDATE: Used another card and was able to complete Update SD Format. Upon rebooting into the language selection, I get an error screen reading Fatal Error... and it gets stuck in a bootloop. Trying to track down the culprit.

  7. I installed the 3.1 update just fine, along with Abb's v3 mods. Now when I attempt to make/receive a phone call the unit partially freezes giving me an error about the "Tel" file. Testmode also won't work, it keeps getting stuck in a "bootloop" of sorts. I've tried several different types of testmode.

My question is, can I use these instructions:

    1. Insert SD card into AVIC and turn it on.

    2. When the pioneer logo comes up, press and hold the menu, map, eject and the reset buttons at the same time. When your screen goes completely blank, let go of the reset button but continue to hold menu, map, and eject buttons. This will bring you to a blue screen, telling you to reset the unit (ignore this), you will have to enter the service combination. Press the volume knob in this sequence and you will see * signs for each push: Up, Up, Down, Menu, Left, Right.

    3. Select Wince Upgrade

    4. Select Update SD Format

    5. Wait until it says restart in the bottom center. Reset the unit and leave the SD card in.

    6. You should be greeted with testmode (It will look very similar to normal windows). Open Explorer and copy the contents of the "My Flash Drive" Folder from the SD card to the "My Flash Drive" that is located on the unit. Overwrite everything. (It will the copying will take 140min but will only take about 20)

    7. Press and hold reset for 5 seconds.

    8. Select your language and voice options.

    9. Enjoy FX3.1

to boot into testmode and try to replace the damaged file?

  8. After downloading and installing bittorrent, I couldn't find any seeds. So I checked my ip address and entered my value for the default gateway into the Bittorrent settings "IP/Hostname to report to tracker". Then did a "force start" and now have 13 seeds dl'ing at 644kB/s! Can't wait to use 3.0 and get rid of the laaaaaaaaaaaag :D

Any help on what address you used? I am in California and it appears (at least my ISP) has blocked the tracker.thepiratebay.org - when you ping it, it returned 127.0.0.1. I tried using MY gateway for my connection but still no luck. I changed the tracker to another tracker and am able to find ONE PEER but cannot connect. Any insight?

    Check your pm

  9. After downloading and installing bittorrent, I couldn't find any seeds. 10. Hey! Seeds. I found that all my available DNS servers (as well as public) are returning 127.0.0.1 for tracker.thepiratebay.org. NICE.

I found a cache from google and their last IP was 192.121.86.8

So I set my hosts file to resolve this and while it didn't connect, as soon as I did that, it found seeds.

Looks like many ISP's have blocked the DNS for them to keep the torrents from functioning.

Pulling good speed now, thank you all!

Will you please elaborate more on making this change? I'm not finding any seeds and think this could be the problem...

  11. hi...

thanks for this perfect guilde except Testmode 2.3 is not working, not a big deal, but have to dig it out searching whole forum. Same with x910.zip file as torrent one is not working but some nice guy added this on his own space and it is easy download from there. H.t.t.p://energy.wub.nu/Pioneer/x910bt.zip

I have upgraded to 3.010100 but my wince still shows ver 5.0.. I go to control panel system and there it shows 5.0..

Any ideas? or I have to reinstall winCE? any verified confirm 6.2x.xx. ver image files available? any one?

    TIA..

    :)

Does anyone have another link to x910bt.zip? The above link is down and site renamed to "wub.nu", torrent link bad, and nothing shows up on google search or thepiratebay.org???

    Help please :?

  12. Thanks:) The holder is just a generic one from BestBuy, cheap and effective. I like ppcwarez.org for my movies and software. They are usually in a single vga-formatted file, around 300mb. In the past I tried to use the Fuze as a usb flash, but there were some problems. I'm running a newer build of the Energy rom now, so I'll try it again.

  13. Thanks...

wow man awesome post, about how many channels do you receive with your hd tv >

Around 6 in my area, but there's lots of mountains here. We're going on a trip to FL this August so I'll be able to test it many different places. :D

hey bud do you know what din kit they gave you so that it looks so clean? also how did you measure to re-align the angle?

I went to Bestbuy and the guy in the install shop started diggin through a box of random trim. Most were single din, but he found 3 doubles. I just compared it to the F90 on the wall and took the one with best-lookin fit.

looks good... I just ordered my coupons so I may do this as well

kuhl, let me kno if u need any tips
