My F700bt is doing the same thing after I loaded the new 3.x maps and firmware about 6 months ago. Pioneer says nothing is wrong with it... BS! Sorry not much help... but wanted you to know someone else is having he same issue.

F700 may work for hours or days and then ALL sound quits. Power off, reset do not seem to help. I pulled the unit out and while the sound was working, wiggled all my wires to see if I had a loose connection. Sound never quit. Reloaded 3.x maps and firmware, no change. Sound still comes and goes..... Only mode is the start up nag. Any ideas or suggestions?

I installed mine in a 2003 Chevy Express Van. No problem finding install kits from Crutchfield.

First of all, THANKS to all who contribute to this site. I installed my 700 last week with the hardware bypass with zero problems. Installation was made much easier via this site. Being a computer geek, hacking custom settings will be next. So my question is... would the navigation screen show up on an external monitor? My wife loves to drive from the back seat of my conversion van and if I could, I would connect a rear TV monitor. I understand that resolution may not be great, but usable. I emailed the same question to Pioneer over a week ago..... No response.
