like the previous post, 02 vs 06, very different. first off in the 02, onstar isnt usable. you cant upgrade the onstar module to convert over to digital.

i have installed 3 avic-d3 units, (1 in a 02 suburban, 1 in a 04 ford f550, 1 in a 08 silverado), and in each install i located the GPS antenna under the dash cover, right in the middle. in all applications, hit all available satellites 99% of the time (the other 1%, it was overcast out). hope this helps. if you have any further questions, dont hesitate to pm or email me at troys97jeep@yahoo.com.
