So I'm still not clear. Do I need to get all new speakers if we bypass the factory amp and just use the D2 internal amp? I could understand that for the Bose system, but I thought I'd be OK with the base system.

The stock speakers won't work with the D2's amp? FYI - I don't have a Bose.

I had a AVIC-D2 installed in my 2007 Corvette and I'm having a wierd problem. Even at the lowest settings the chimes and voice guidance are way too loud. I think the installer connected the D2 to the factory amp. Could that be the problem? Thanks for any help. Joe
