  1. I downloaded AVIC Feeds from Pioneer but I'm finding it difficult to use with little to no instructions provided by Pioneer. The POIs in my area (Shreveport, Louisiana) are pretty slim even with the latest map data (there's a Chevron gas station that has been in the same location for 15+ years and it does not show on the map, yet a fairly new Citgo does??). According to the limited instructions with AVIC Feeds, I'm supposed to be able to update my POIs by inputting lat/long, however the final product is a .kml file. The instructions don't tell me what to do with said .kml file and looking thro
  2. OK, this makes sense. Typical of Pioneer to have new maps available and delay putting them into their product until hundreds of units with outdated maps are sold, then selling new maps! What a rip off! SPE999
  3. Since I'm having problems downloading the 2008.4 maps I decided to ask Pioneer to send them to me (since my unit is only 1 month old I told them I expected them for FREE) and I received the following replay, "Thank you for contacting Pioneer Electronics, Inc. Actually, the maps of your navigation is 2007 to 2008 maps. And the map upgrades for this models are not available yet. Once it's released it will cost something, as the upgrade did for other navigation units. Thank You, Oliver Customer Service Representative" This has me confused. Do the 2008.4 maps work with t
  4. Basic question here that I can't find an answer for in the manual. I've loaded several screen splashes from here on my 700bt but on my start up splash screen there is always a black border around the outside that reduces the image size. I've tried blowing them up to the full 2592 x 1944 and it still shrinks my image. What am I missing here guys/gals? SPE999
  5. Hmm, I want the Speed Limit Mod, but prefer IDT's "digital" compass...decisions, decisions... you can have both just add IDT's compass code over mine in the navigate 800_480 ui file. I will try and see if i can inject it into my file and post it for you later. As I suspected, when I copied IDT's compass code and two required .bmps over to yours, there was a conflict between his compass and your time (both occupy the upper right corner). If you can talk me through moving the position in code, I can give it a shot. SPE999

  7. Here's a heads up for anyone having problems with the house number mod. IDT's V2 works perfectly in this regard, but I'm discovering the Map Database (at least in Louisiana where I live) doesn't have quite a few house numbers. I originally thought the mod wasn't working but after turning onto a street that was probably paved and numbered circa 1960, it worked like a charm. Tap the street name and numbers come up on each side of the road (I like where they're displayed!), tap the numbers and they disappear. Very nice IDT. Believe it or not I just bought my 700BT last week and it came with the 2
  8. OK, I'll take a deep breath and give "code copying" a shot. I'll let you know how it goes. SPE999
  9. SPE999 OK, I'm nearly a "full-up round". Loaded DATA.zip with Elevation.BMP and the Speed bmps, restored my prefered Map color schemes and it boots up fine. The only things I see are: #1 - No Elevation displayed. #2 - No House numbers display when I touch the street name Am I missing something? SPE999 could you post your navigatemap800_480.ui file Here it is, but trust me, its the one you wrote/moded, I've very little faith in working on code... ;***************** ; xucheng ;***************** ;*******************************************************************
  10. use 7zip I tried this and, again, couldn't get it to boot up. Switched back to IDT's unmodified V2 with no problems. I think I'm having a compression issue when I try to "re-zip" the DATA.zip file. I'm using WinZip and I've tried "optimum" and "Legacy 2.0", niether seem to be liked by my 700bt. SPE999 Thanks. I'll download 7zip right now and give it a shot. SPE999 OK, I'm nearly a "full-up round". 13. Now that I've got this working I was just playing with it and discovered when I press the house icon, it sends me to the Destination Address input and doesn't give me a route home. Is this by design? IDT Version1 gave me a "quick route" home when I pressed the house. Overall I like V2, really like the Speed display! SPE999
  14. If I was smart enough on this stuff I'd ask "why the hell does it work like that?" But I wouldn't understand your answer. Thanks cmh! Anyone having re-boot issues with IDT V2, simply change map settings to one of Pioneers (in my case I reverted back to Pioneer Blue Day & Pioneer Red Night), then drop the new DATA.zip in the APL2/iGo folder, exit Test Mode and when you turn your key it should work. cmh, you posted a "fix" to this issue, I downloaded the zip containing two files. Where am Ito put these two files? SPE999
  15. Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat as Paladin, when I use new the DATA.ZIP file I get re-boots, all I have to do is put the earlier IDT DATA.ZIP file back in and it works (obviously with the old format and function). I'm trying to track the "missing" BMP discussion, but I checked IDT's DATA file and there was a Speed.bmp in the 800_480 folder and a YOUR_SPEED.BMP in the Common folder. I didn't see an ELEVATION.BMP in either folder, however when I looked in the earlier DATA.ZIP I didn't see it in there either.... SPE999
