Hi -- Have an Z2 with an unlocked upgraded hdd (60Go Toashiba) from ebay and was wondering what happens when the new maps come out and I update the system with them. Will I loose my updated gracenotes? Will it relock the hdd? Assuming someone here has had experience with it.

Thanks for the info. Looked at few other posts was hoping someone could answer a few more... 1)Someone had said the Z3 had a USB connection, is this accurate? I was under the assumption you only could have USB access with the external USB control unit. 2)How many A/V inputs are there? The pioneer specs claim the Z3 has the following: "AV Bus Input" (I am assuming that is Video/Audio), Backup Camera, and a composite input. So is the "AV Bus Input" really just the IP-Bus, or another another set of RCAs? And if it is the IP-Bus they are referring why do they call it an "AV Bus" since you

So I am sure these have been asked a million time, but I did some quick searches and could not find definitive answers. This is regarding a AVIC-Z2 + Unlocked Video (upgraded to Z3 + newest Grace) 1)Can you view video by any other means besides internal DVD or the RCA inputs? I was hoping via Divx/WPA on internal hdd. 2)Is the Z3 still limited to 1000 albums? If so it seems you would max it with a (upgraded) 60Go hdd easily. 3)Is there any way to easily access the MP3 library on the internal hdd besides yanking it? Perhaps iPod->internal hdd transfer? So I was attempting the N1 mod and neglected to see where people said not to pull the screen all the way out. So what happens now is screen pops out, but does not flip up. If I understand the problem correctly I broke the sensor springs which detect when it is extended. Is there any fix for this, or even worth while to fix? I've been looking for parts to no avail.

It amazes me how manufacturers are limiting the potential technology available, makes me want to just hookup a permanent laptop in the car. Thanks for the replys!

Hi -- can someone tell me if there are instructions to uprade the stock HDD anywhere? While I have seen marginal HDD upgrades (30G->60G) for sale I am confused why I can not find an available upgraded HDD to say 500G which are still extremely cheap. Additionally, is the HDD a 2.5" PATA type or SATA (I am assuming old school ATA).
