  1. Abb,

Not sure if this is a possibility or not, but I'd love it if there was a way to switch off some of your add-ins. I'm not sure if that's a possibility or not, but since some of us don't use the whole package, it'd be great if we could trade speed for certain functions. Is that something that might be feasable?

I dont know about switching off, this is a feature rich mod and it is not expected that you use everything. If you dont use it, leave it and play with the functions that you do use.

  2. Hello all,

if this mod is compatible with my add-on, the MB-3DCars1.2a is available here

Thank you misterblue! I have tried this and it works GREAT! You did an excellent job with this update. I will be adding it to my V5 giving you full credit, and yes, it is compatible with my V4. Just delete the original '3D Car' folder and then add the one that is in 'MB-3DCars1.2a'. You will then have to rescan all the cars in again.

  3. Not that sure but in some posts they were talking about lower the RAM usage of 14 MB to 2 MB for application to speedup the iGO or something, but with firmware 2.x, so I thought that this is no longer the case because I got plenty of RAM left even with all scripts ON.

Wow, that was from V1 to V2.0. The files have been reduced considerably, especially in the image.res file, which used to have a background image that was customizable, but after V2, a lot of that was hardcoded into the Avic to conserve memory, therefore increasing responsiveness and speeding up boot times. This was further enhanced from V2-V3, but not to the extreme as it was in its prior release. If we were to put our present mods in V1, then the system would probably not even run. That is why it is a good idea to keep the fie sizes down as low as possible. When I first did my V4, I did not reduce any of the bmps and the Data.zip was a whopping 27 mb. During testing, the Avic constantly froze (memory errors) and would run very slow. I had to reduce ALL the files in my V4 in its final release to make it stable. My V5 has been reduced even further despite a lot more data and files that were added. I have been running my final non-msn version of my V5 for several months now, and it has not even hiccupped onced and it is ROCKSOLID :)!

  4. as newer AVIC has lot of RAM in it

What newer Avic? The F series has just as much ram as the X series! Even if it is just a little difference, it is pointless to have something in your system that is incapable of being ever being used. In my mod though, it is a little more resourceful as ther is an entire seperate dropdown menu for MSN, plus a lot of HiRez icons. This is just for myself anyways, and the majority of people want MSN, that is why I post it with MSN included

  5. So people are paying this MSN Direct function for nothing from now ON?

Well, they get it for another ten months and then it will seize to exist. I always delete the MSN stuff from the mod that I have in my system because it is not supported in my area and deleting this makes the DATA.zip file smaller and frees up resources in the system. I had a non-msn version in my earlier 2.0 mod and only about 1/8 people downloaded it so I did not include it afterwards. The majority always rules! For my personal mod though, I am not going to have the system load up stuff that I cannot use. That is just silly!

  6. So many great improvements in V5.0 it is awesome. Again, very well thought out. I have an early Beta, with only a couple of very small issues and can say I have not gotten bored of this mod at all yet, though I can't wait for a fully functioning version.

Hey Abb, thanks again for all your efforts and keeping this forum going during that very long dry spell.

Your welcome! V5 is a lot of work in that just about everything has been changed. Everytime I go to get a working MSN version on the go, something comes up, like work problems, computer problems, health problems (pneumonia). I will get this up, people will just have to be patient and the wait will be worth it as I have been running this mod (NON MSN) version for awhile, and it is 100 % stable, and much more functional in some aspects, as well as much better to look at. I love it when people get in my car and ask "wow, where can I buy one of those?" and I say "you can't"

  7. Hello,

ABB1 I think that you speak about me for the transparency,Rather than to take him badly, A work in common, As with chuck88 Would have been more judicious (The work in common has of the voucher)

On these words Good Sunday Jean-louis

No, I wasn't talking about anybody in particulor, ! Those were just a few things that I picked atop of my head and were not to single anybody out. You have said a lot of good things about my work, and I appreciate constructive critism along with that. Please, that was not to be taken personally for ANYONE!!

  8. I hear what you are saying and I really HATE dissapointing anybody. I will see when I get back home next week. I may put it up, BUT WITH CLOSURE THAT I WILL NOT TROUBLESHOOT AS I REALLY AM NEVER HOME ANYMORE! Two days one week and three days the next, and trust me, when I am home, I do not want to sit in front of a computer and troubleshoot an installation that was not done right.

I DO NOT want anybody to get the wrong idea about given the mod to those that donated. I sure as hell dont do this for donations, but I DO feel commited to those that have shown their appreciation. Trust me, it is not a monetary thing as I have an excellent income, and I have myself donated to both, Diaftia and IDT to show my appreciation for their hard work and input. Hell, if they were in my city, I would buy them so many beers, that they would not stand :D!

We spend a lot of time putting these mods together and it is a nice feeling to get an email that says 'Nice Job! I sent you some money for a couple of beers! Cheers' ... instead of hearing 'I installed your mod, but it doesnt work for me', or 'I dont like the smartzoom' or 'I dont like transparent signs'. These mods, wether they are done by myself, IDT or Alex are done on an individual basis and our tastes differ. It is impossible to please everyone, but we are doing the best that we can for the community.

So is it wrong to give my mod to those that are supportive, had nothing but good things to say, and have appreciated the hard work that went into these mods? ....I don't think so! I want to share the work that I do, but looking through Alex's mod and some of the comments he had to deal with, I just dont have time for :( .

I will see if I have the time when I come home to put up an MSN version of this mod, but I will not troubleshoot it!

  9. If you're concerned about install problems, just release it how you normally would, tell us how to install and then leave us to it. I've been thinking about making an installer program that could be used with the different Mods out there.

So far all your stuff is gold.

No, that is not the problem. It is just that a lot of people cannot follow directions. I had very precise directions in my V4 mod and people still did not follow them to a 'T' and then had problems. My job has just gotten twice as busy and I just dont have the time to troubleshoot.

  10. Any word on the new version?

Well Hanibal, I was going to put it up last weekend, but reading through Diaftias thread, I really dont know. Almost every page has troubleshooting questions from hell and they are mostly not even directed at the mod itself, but through installation problems. I was thinking 'Alex, what have you gotten yourself into?'. I dont have the time to troubleshoot like that, and reading through Diaftias mod, EVERY DAY there is someone needing help, or something. I am extremely busy with my work right now where I am away for long periods of time, and I do not have time to troubleshoot and it would not be fair to put something up and not being there to support it. This IS, in my opinion, my best mod yet with new features and a much better graphical interface. I was thinking about sending V5 to all those that have donated as I have them in my friends list and I feel that I owe it to them.

  11. Hello

I have my F900BT unit with Diaftia Mod installed, thanks a lot

Now I'm trying to install Coreplayer in my unit

I get coreplayer from leetlauncher 3.0 and I can run it from diaftia users menu

But Coreplayer only sounds if the Pionner Avic AV player ir running !!!

Has anybody coreplayer running correctly ?

    Thanks in advance

This is a question, not a statement, Why would anyone want coreplayer installed when Pioneers AV player is better. That has always blown me away. The same thing goes with having TomTom installed when the Avic is a much better NAV program! Is it just to say 'I am different' or is there a benefit to using coreplayer?

  12. The scripting for the Main/AV section of the Avic is hardcoded into the machine. We can only access the coding in the NAV section. We were able to get some parts of the Main code such as the phone, and AV hide functions, but that is only because there are remnants of the original code in the 'navigatemap.ui' file. I have tried for a long while to uncover the code of the 'main/AV' part and was unsuccessful. I have tried playing around by adding scripts to 'hopefully' luck out and access some areas in the main code, but again, I was unsuccessful. All I can say is, play around and 'Good Luck'!

  13. I would try to redo the 3.0 firmware again. Try using the FX 3.1 mod, that has been successful as far as I know. I also had the reboot problem after I installed the legit firware from Pioneer. After I installed the hacked version, all was good for my F700. I can explain why this happened, but that is not as important as how to fix it, so just install one of the hacked versions and you should be good to go.

  14. I think it is nice to be able to switch off the screen (especially at night) or when you just listen to the radio. I am able to switch the screen off by going into System Settings > Screen off, however, is there a way we can copy this button anywhere else? For example, the main menu screen?

    Many thanks in advance

No, it is not possible. We cannot change the script in the Main/AV part of the unit, only the navigation part. There is several ways of doing this with a button in the Nav section though.

  15. *Dangles beer*

Seriously Abb, got some time for an Ottawa fan? I'll ply you with brew if you'll help me install your mod.

Too easy, just follow the directions to a 'T'! It is easier than it seems--

Extract all of the folders/files from the .rar file you downloaded, onto a freshly formatted SD card with a testmode folder. You only need to deal with 4 different folders on your AVIC and they are labeled on the folders themselves that the files are in within the zip once extracted.

Also make sure you have a full back up of your FLASHDISK. Really, you are going to edit a lot of files here and it will be nice to go back if you want/need to.

Once the SD card is inserted into your AVIC, power it on and boot into testmode:

    1. Click Start - Programs, Explorer then click on SD Card

    2. Click on Start Again - Programs - Explorer then click on My FlashDisk - you should now have 2 Explorer folders open in the quick start menu at the bottom of your windows screen.

3.Using the SD card window click on the folder called 'put ALL CONTENTS IN 'MyFlashDisk' folder'. Move the 'System' folder found inside into 'MyFlashDisk' along side APL, APL2, etc..

4.Using the SD card window click on the folder called 'put ALL CONTENTS in 'MyFlashDisk-APL' Folder'. Move ' CommonLib.dll', 'Image.res', 'MainMenu.exe', and 'SystemSetting.exe' into the APL folder

    5. Using the SD card window click on the folder called 'put ALL CONTENTS in 'MyFlashDisk-APL2-IGO' Folder'.

    6. Scroll your pointer over the 8 files titled "bnt.ttf", "DATA.zip", “BULLPEN3D.ttfâ€, “Digital.ttfâ€, "DS-DIGI.TTF", "TAHOMA.TTF", "TAHOMABD.TTF" and "sys.txt", as well as the 2 folders, "3DCars' and "Extension" to select them all. If you are running an F500, or are using a unit in the EU, then edit the semicolons at the top of the sys.txt file before copying them over to the AVIC.

    7. Go up to EDIT at the top window click COPY

    8. Go to the FLASHDISK explorer window at the bottom of the screen and open it

    9. Navigate to APL2-iGo

    10. Click EDIT at the top window and PASTE all 8 files and both folders

    11. When the prompt comes up asking you if you want to change files click the option that says "YES ALL" wait for it to copy files (because you made that backup right?)

    12. You need to delete the user files so that your settings are built fresh with these new mods. They are in “My Flash Disk\User\UserData". Delete the ENTIRE "iGo" .

    13. Power off your ignition to turn the AVIC off.

    14. Pop out your SD CARD and then power back on to restart AVIC. DO NOT REMOVE THE SD CARD WITHOUT TURNING OFF YOUR AVIC FIRST!!!

  16. I down loaded your mod.every thing was good than i tried to install schemes and now my f90bt says to wait downloading in progress radio turns on, than after a few minutes it reboots i tried my backup and that wont install not sure whats up with that.any help would be great. Thank You

Sounds like you possibly downloaded the schemes in the wrong folder, otherwise, this should not happen. In the meantime, if the mod worked ok right away, then obviously the problem is in the schemes installation. Just delete the schemes from the folder make sure it boots ok, and then try again, but follow the instructions

  17. Hey Abb, just want to say thanks. I really like the look of this mod. Beer Money will defenaley be coming from me. One question for you tho, I read in an earlier post someone asked about a tutorial on this. Any thoughts on that? Or will it be included with V5?

I just wanted to apologize to everyone for my absense. I have been without a computer for some time as I was waiting for parts to come in to build a new one, and I will not have anything but the best ;). I cant do any mods or updates on my ipad :(. I will not really be doing a tutorial as these mods ae pretty self explanitory iun the first posts. V5 is still coming, actually, it is complete in the NON MSN versiuon, but I need to have the MSN version set up to post it.

  18. Here in the Avic world, we call them scheme's, not skins. There are a tonne of schemes here that look a lot better than that. I have designed many, and there are a few more available in DPDursts mods from some of the designers from the 'igo8 Artwork' site. If you are talking about the UI, I would not attempt to change that.
