It's around 06ba0 i replaced the caractors with spaces just like in the Av exe and the message is totally gone now even on boot up here is the file.I just noticed that the warning is still there when the unit is booting. It is NOT there after that. I guess it runs another program during boot that also needs to be modified.//Tomi B.
There is more of this text in the video EXE file.
What line is this text found? (it's still in the av.exe file?) I searched for it, but couldn't find another spot where it was.

Yes it does, the PAC instruction said " there is 3 new steering wheel control actions for PIONEER radio with a Bluetooth receiver. and if you look at the honda 2008 and 2009 steering wheel control they have another set of button, one with green phone icon and one with red phone icon. So i think these command will work with the F series.
Programe one of your other buttons to perform theses functions just to trial it!
-
You could! if the head unit supports it! it will take some messing around though! you'd have to measure the resistence to earth from your steering wheel control sw wire for each button that you currently have installed by pressing each button in turn and recording the values! and then pick a resistence different those values recorded, wire up your new switch with the required resistor and then programe SWi-ps accordingly. or you could just program say programe your mute or mode button as a bluetooth controll (any button you don't use often).

got it working, but unfortunatly, the xm doesn't look right to me. I get black boxes around the channel numbers inside the carbon fiber bar.
You need to cut and paste some more files over! there is actualy two small carbon fibre images in my file to fill those wholes! they are in the AV file and they're called 746_32K_AV_SRC_TUNER_PCH_24b and 746_32K_AV_SRC_TUNER_FREQ_24b. you'll notice a slight miss match when you apply them if you look hard. you'll also notice one near the clock you'll need that too it's called 746_32K_AV-003_32b.
This sounds funny, but where is the image that is the center image on the main menu. The one that says Subaru on your image? I wanted to do something similiar and have searched through your image.res file and can't find it...Thanks,
Ben
Yes i replace it with a generic pioneer bar! Here it is you'll have to save it as bmp file before you use it!

i didn't do much at all with icons them selves, i got those from Guga's theme i love them he did a great job!
so i took the easy way out! i'm still learning photoshop myself.
-
aaahhh, so close, I could not get it to boot with the new image.res file. I think it has to do with the winrar program I am using.
I will have to try again later in the week.
Mate you'll need to use 7zip you can find it by googling it! and don't forget to rename the file to image.res after you have zipped it!
I think I found a mistake, bmp file 746_32K_MN-002_32B.bmp is a narrow line on the original, but it appears to be the same as the original 746_32KMN-002_32b.bmpit looks like the inactive, and push are backwards.
???
I noticed this in my files too after you mentioned it. I've fixed it and included a pioneer title bar and updated the link above.
-
I really like this theme, it is pretty close to what I have been looking for, I just want the carbon fiber, I dont want to change the UI pics, could you tell me which bmp files I need to copy? thank you.
By ui picks do you mean the icons?
All you really need to do is unzip the image.res file using 7zip then copy your original icon bmp files and paste them in, to replace the ones you don't want.
if you have trouble let me know!

Hey sorry i took so long i'm still pretty new to Forums so it took me awhile to figure out how to up load the files.
http://rapidshare.com/files/239472491/G ... e.zip.html
Once you've unzipped the theme file you'll notice there's two files, image.res and a gps theme file. the image.res can simply replace the image.res file found in your APL folder. But with the gps theme file you'll need to copy the images files from within and paste them into APL2/igo/Data/ui_pioneer/800x480.
When i get a chance i will creat a generic Pioneer, bottom title bar and post it.
Enjoy Dave.

Hi,
If some one could post an Dump file taken from an Australian unit I'd realy appreciate it!
Carver has posted a write up on making a dump file this is how it's done;
1)Load Testmode 2.2 onto an SD card can get it here viewtopic.php?f=34&t=23632#p164539).
2)Place SD card into your unit and apply power, it will boot into Wince (this may take upto a minute or so).
3)Open DiskRW, it will be on your desktop!
4)select SDMLC in sourse, and SD card as the destination and press Read (for WinCE and config backup).
5)Remove SD card once it has finish reading (it takes maybe 1 minute) and reboot.
6)Upload file.
Thanks heaps!
Regards Dave.

Hi carver it would be great if you could tell us exactly how you opened/edited your SDMLC image file! Did you mount it as a virtual drive?
-
i read in google about some pioneer with USB interfece (simple pioneer, without navi)
It read firmware from our USB flash, but i can't find anything update file for this device,
for check password inside. may-me CPU also Renesas, pasword inside, and one for all pioneer.
so, i try search again.
Nice work! this device possibly has the same micro processor we might be able to get a service manual for it. unfortunately i think it'll be impossible to convert from US to EW unless we can reflash it. i believe the micro processor has total control over frequency stepping/band and dvd region code. i think it Could also be possible to make a pic micro based mod chip for the unit to control the fm tuner and maybe to over ride the dvd region code.
it would take some work but maybe it would be worth it sure a lot of people on here would profit from it.
for edit SDMLC dump i use winhex or other software, but for few block need calculate checksumm,
and i can't find algoritm. it not crc32 or other, famous for me.
i had play with winhex and all i could see was hex code! how do you convert the hex into text? and also is there a way to covert the image file back into normal files?
-
all m32c/PEG447A can flashed via COM/RS-232 port, but Pioneer
can set password for read. not FFFFFFFF, so, need connect and test.
at this moment, i looking for other board at m32c, for testing,
if don't found, i try connect to avic.
also, i try read service manual more detailed, can WinCE flash AV board ?
in this case, need try looking AV code in avic sottware.
Carver yeah figured they would have the id code set! i didn't realy have equiment to try. i wonder if there is a pioneer utility built in that can reflash it like Uboot?
-
Ok i'll try and get a dump from an AU Avic i have a friend that works in a pioneer retail outlet hopefully he'll let me make an image from there display model! I too have a US Avic so i'll give it a try on mine when i get it and let you know how it goes.
-
Carver, What program did you use to open and edit the image files?
-
I have tried changing the position of those resistors on my Av board it had no effect! If you look at the schematic in the service manual it shows those resisters as 0 ohms and they are simply connected from earth to earth. I think the purpose of them is purely an indicator to show that the particular AV or Navi board is set up for that particular region in software. in the case of the AV board it contains a micro processor (IC610) which has have it's own software load which will be hard to copy/modify.
The micro processor is part numbered PEG447A for US and PEG449A for AU (in the service manual) however these part numbers are only pioneer numbers given to those items the real part number is actually some thing like this M30876fjbgp I believe the only reason they have different part numbers is because they are loaded with different software.
A data sheet for this processor can be found here;
http://documentation.renesas.com/eng/pr ... 2c87ds.pdf
Carver,
Has reloading your Avic fixed the FM tuning steps? Or does it just display Ew frequency stepping? And has it changed your DVD region?
-
also i want ask questions.
i chanse Serial number of my UC AVIC-F90BT, from UC to RE (russia?)
(29xxxxxx to 2Axxxxxx)
after reboot - my FM start from 87.xx to 92.xx, with 0.05 step.
Carver, How Did you do this?
skip warning and nag for AVIC F900BT 4.001000 update
