  1. I just bought the F90 and I want to protect the screen from my greasy fingers, but don't want to spend a whole helluva lot on a simple plastic coating.
  2. I just bought the F90 and I wanted to download the avic feeds app but I'm unable to find it. The link listed on pioneer's site is broken...sends me to "file not found". The links on this site do the same thing. Can someone post the app here, please? What happened to it at pioneer? I realize the F-Series is no more, but do they really need to pull the app?
  3. OK...now I fully understand...thanks for your time. I think I'm going with Metra's GMOS-LAN-01. Apparently, that is Metra's version of the GM22SR from Scosche. I read on Crutchfield that I'd also lose the "clicks" from my turn signal...even with the harness...unless I installed a SPDT relay. I wonder, will any SPDT relay do? Like I've said...I've got the F90 and now have the Alpine PKG-M780 Headrest monitors...and I've talked to an installer who says he can do the bypass and install everything, including a $50 video amp for $250 total (that includes parts and labor). That sounds
  4. Ok...so basically...if I'm understanding this all correctly is: If I went without the harness and wired directly or bought some cheap knockoff harness...then the worst possible scenario is that I'd lose the chime feature for my parking break, doors and air bags. That's it? It's just the chime? I pushed that with the tech and sales guy...I told them that it makes no sense and asked specifically do they mean the chime...and I couldn't pin them down. So, I get the feeling you're correct. It's just dumb...someone steals my radio and wham...I've got no airbags? Salesmen piss me o
  5. I agree...it sounds ridiculous. I argued with the tech and the sales guy. I told them, "Then why don't you say that in your list of features of the harness? You list things like, "Retains Door Chimes"...don't you think you should list, "Retains Airbag functionality?!??!" They told me, "It's not with all models that use that harness...so we couldn't list that...no." Anyone else care to give them a call and double check my findings? Any installer out there know for a fact? I mean, the only way for me to find out is if I hit something and my airbags don't deploy.
  6. I just called scosche's tech support and the tech told me the same thing. He said that the LAN unit is a computer interface and everything in the car talks to each other. Without that LAN unit...things might not function properly. Anyone feel like questioning scosche on this...I'm not as technically versed so he might just be selling me on this harness...the number is (800) 363-4490 ext 1 for sales or ext 3 for tech support. My car is a 2008 Suzuki XL7. I can't believe this...I talked to the tech and told him that it's unsafe to do that...what if someone just stole my radio...
  7. I just called scosche to find out what harness and dash kit I'd need. The rep told me that for my vehicle (2008 Suzuki XL7), I'll need the following harness (GM22SR)...which costs $130! He told me that without that harness...I'd lose my door chime and AIR BAGS! What in the ****? He said GM has been doing that for a while now. Have you guys run into this before? Am I really stuck paying that much for a stinking wiring harness? What do you guys suggest...did any of you get around this issue?
  8. Thanks for the info guys. Ok...I went ahead and purchased the Alpine PKG-M780 headrest monitors. I know I won't be doing that install, but I still may consider installing the headunit myself. I searched crutchfield and they say I'll need a scosche installation kit...so I'll research that more. Now that I understand the wiring harness more...it appears I'll need to purchase one of those or go the long route of figuring out how to wire my radio directly to the wires in my car. I think I'd rather buy the wiring harness. I'll probably go ahead and get the video amp...sounds like
  9. I just purchased a brand new F90Bt and I'm looking into possibly installing it myself. Even if I don't install it myself...I'd really like to know more about the process so that I can haggle a bit better with the installers. I have a 2008 Suzuki XL7. 1. The F90 I bought came with a wiring harness in the box...so I'm confused about the whole harness process. I've read countless threads that talk about getting the "right harness" for your vehicle. Am I to understand that the harness that came with my unit will not work with my vehicle? Why even include it? 2. I've read about Soft
