  1. I called Pioneer and they said that is the way the new system works. First she told me that "it defaults to the capital of the state", and I asked her what year our capital of NY changed from Albany to Buffalo? LOL What I do is just to the right of the default city is: HISTORY, just a touch there and you can hit your home town. Not a fix, but a quick work around.

  2. Hey guys, I was wondering if you could give me a suggestion for the best way to hook up a BlackBerry Storm 2 to a F90BT.

We got a vehicle with this thing installed just yesterday. I thought the front panel had an aux jack that I could just put a male to male headphone cable into, turns out I was way wrong about that.

All the pictures I found of the F90BT has a input jack on the face of the unit. Are you saying yours does not?

  3. You guys are confusing the words subscription and service. Yes you do have to cancel your subscription but you will continue to get the service. They will refund you and still give you the service for free until 01-2012. . Call them back.

No confusion here. I was told that I had to cancel my service to get a full refund on my lifetime card or wait until 2012 and get a pro-rated refund on balance owed (which they could not tell me what that would be). I was not offered a continued service with a canceled subscription.

  4. When I called, they would not rebate my $$ unless I cancelled. Looks like I am a lifetime subscriber until 1/1/12 and then I will get about $2 back when they get around to sending me a check.

I got the same thing when I called, no refund on the lifetime unless They totally shut down my service, but once the subscription ran out in 2012, they will send me a pro-rated check for the difference.

  5. It's not a problem with the antenna, the GPS works great! The only problem I am having (knock on wood) with the 3.0 upgrade is the default city is locked on Buffalo. I can change it to another city and it will find and route me to the selected locations, but the next time I go to input another location, it comes up with Buffalo as the default.

  6. After upgrading to 3.0, my default city for looking up addresses became Buffalo, NY. That's an hours drive away from my home town. My home address is entered as a Rochester, NY address. Does anyone know how to change to default city? It's a real pain to have too change it to Rochester every time I have to look up a local location, which is the majority of the time. My car has never been to Buffalo, so I have no idea how that became the default.

  7. I do have one question before I mangle my wife's box. Any tips on getting the fascia off without scuffing it up? Is it yankable with your fingers or do you need a tool?

I found it a little easier to use the airvents on either side of the radio to pull from. It pulls off really easy. There is also a small fascia piece mounted just under the radio that must come off too. This piece also just pulls off easy.

  8. I've read several posts on the hardwire bypass and I think I know what to do. Can someone confirm:

    1 relocate mute wire

2 ground the relocated mute wire and the parking brake wire

    is that it?

That's it! Just be careful, my RS6 didn't have a light green parking brake wire like all the mod's say to ground, mine was a different color.

  9. Thanks! Sorry - I didn't have notifications turned on :)

I guess I need to take my xB in to the service department then, because my audio controls on the wheel do nothing!

I think I'll try to live without the mod for now - probably safer for me :)

Let us know how it goes. The Mod is nice since it will allow you to put in an address for the Nav without having to pull over and engage the emergency brake!

We used it last night and it was great not having to pull over and stop.

  10. I've got the 2009 Scion xB Release Series 6.0 - had it a couple of days now. I really like the F900BT.

A question for you guys - do you steering-wheel audio controls work? Mine don't and I plan to take it in to Scion this weekend to see what they say. Since its factory integrated, I think they should work...

So, I assume this Hand Brake mod is so that you can enter addresses when you are not parked? Can you also dial with the phone pad?

My steering wheel controls work fine with the F900BT on my RS6.

The "Hand Brake Mod" will allow you do do "everything" while driving, even watch a DVD, though it's not recommended. LOL

  11. I do have a RS6 with the F900BT. I did the Hardware Mod and it works great. The mod is a little different on our cars because the wiring harness used, uses some different wire colors. There is no Light Green Hand Brake wire going to the back of our unit, like the mod calls for, at least there wasn't on mine. The Hand Brake wire on our car, if I remember correctly is a Red & White wire. It will be the third wire over from the Black wire on the Black connector. The link below will show you the pinouts and it's the position 9 wire on the Power Supply connector is the one you want.

    Hope this helps.....
