  1. Do you have a model number?

    PR2626

I just bought one off ebay from the UK. Will update when it arrives.

Dude .. I bought the "PR2627 Parrot Twin Mic Microphone MKi9100, MKi9200" from a english firm on eBay also .. received it roughly 10 days later .. and I tell you what .. its the greatest thing. Far better than the stock mic (I have an AVIC-F700BT) .. here is the link to the UK company that is selling these on eBay ..

I had actually called Parrot and asked about that mic, they told me the unit had to be built to use the dual mic specifically, so I forgot about it. Is it a standard plug or two or what? Are both mic's working or just one? Have you tried any other mic's to compare it to?

    Thanks

  2. It is because you are not using the hacked ezrider

I will try to simplify this

    1) I updated the WinCE version via the instructions here viewtopic.php?f=33&t=25424&p=172862&hilit=service+menu#p172862 EXCEPT I choose the update WITHOUT formatting option.

    2) Using the new testmode 2.3, moved the old APL to APL.bak, and copied over the 3.0 version

    3) Crossed fingers, reset

    4) Booted! So far I haven't found any problems - some of the menu items are like in the 3.0 screenshot tour viewtopic.php?t=25031 , basically the non-NAV related items (bluetooth call screen, for example)

    5) Its still runing iGo 8.0, since I didnt replace the APL 2 folder. Gonna try replacing that next.

1: Update WinCE version but not quite like http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... nu#p172862 tells you. You use the WinCE update from the 3.0 X Series update from the Pioneer website not the one from that thread. Update without format option and after you update you skip everything after on that thread because it tells you how to do a full recovery not just a update.

on a side note to that thread to enter service mode you hold down Menu,Map,Eject then tap reset and it seems to go right into service mode (blue screen that says push reset) Instead of pushing reset you then put in the code from that thread.

2: Using the new testmode 2.3, moved the old APL to APL.bak, and copied over the 3.0 version

3: Inside the APL 2 folder replace the ezrider file with the hacked ezrider from this thread http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25289 otherwise you may get stuck at "system loading" and maps will not work. Everything else in the APL2 folder stays the same until the new iGo is hacked.

I hope this helps. I am quite happy so far to have menus that respond when i push them now. I just bought my unit last week from Best Buy and was quite upset i would have to pay 60-100$+ just to update my brand new system. I would love to get new maps too but i am pretty happy with the results so far. Next i think i am going to see if i can get rid of those annoying Caution screens after this update.

    Thank you for the clarification!

  3. Anyone have good experience using the Pioneer CD-VM1 microphone, or is there a better one to use?

My unit may be mounted low on the console so I dont think the built in one will do the trick & the Pioneer microphone seems to be discontinued, so not sure it's a good one...

Any suggestions & info appreciated, thank you!

  4. Waste of time, I really wouldnt worry about it.

I'd very roughly guess the % of brands of SD with issues would probably be similar to the % of computer system RAM that has issues with particular MB's or BIOS versions.

It's pretty few and far between, but it does happen on that rare occasion, no clue why.

We know 32 can work now, most likely the vast majority of brands will, if not all of them.

Now if someone does unfortunately run across a brand that does not work, that would be good to know, but considering how few 32GB SD's are actually out on the market currently compared to 8's & 16's I woudn't expect to find that out any time soon.

  5. Nice! I thought they would. Thank you for verifying!

FYI most brick & mortar stores will let you return an SD card if it doesnt work long as you have everyting & didnt destroy the packaging (from what I've been told). So if you get a 32 and it doesnt like it you shoudl be able to exchange for a different one. The brand problem is FAR less frequent than a generic size not working (or not recognizing all of it) from my understanding.

  6. Ya, it's the same for cell / PDA phones (which I work a lot with). They'll only state (frequently what was then the biggest you could buy) 4 or 8 GB, but frequently work with larger ones. It's really a trial and error thing to find out with a lot of these types of devices.

In fact, it can sometimes vary from brand of card as well. I have no clue why, but some PDA's I've tested that claim 8GB mas will take one brand of 16, but not another. That seems more rare though.
