  1. Has anyone managed to replace the 3d car image? I found a car image in mdl and tex formats, albeit not quite the same size, called 216car. I changed the names to car and loaded in the correct folder, but when I switched to 3d mode I got an error, it couldn't load 216car.mdl. Has anyone any thoughts? Thanks Colin

    x y z w

Still trying to understand the script. Could someone explain what the x, y, z and w refer to. I can guess what the x and y are, but would like confirmation. Thanks Colin
  3. I added a camera on my drive for testing purposes, but now want to remove it. The only problem is I can't find anywhere how to remove it! Can anyone help. Thanks Colin
  4. Boris I think I have previosly found what you are referring to - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OZQNZ7V1 - but the link seems to fail. On a different subject, you mentioned yesterday that the language is Pioneer's own. But is this sat nav not really an IGO product, so should the question be what language does IGO use, or is it again their own. Again your help and guidance is much appreciated. Colin
  5. OK it seems back to the drawing board! Can you tell me how I can download your file that incorporates spoken instructions? Thanks Colin
  6. Boris Thanks for your response and your help. As you will have guessed I am tring to change !alert1.wav to a different sound depending on different conditions, although for the moment I am just trying to change the sound regardles of the condition. From tests and trials I am not achieving a simple sound change by using run "alert1.wav" = "red_light_camera.wav" Indeed the system crashes on boot-up! Can you tell me if you think this has the wrong syntax. I have tried to find what the programming language is, so that I can learn a bit more, but that has proved impossible!
  7. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with this piece of code? runif %navigation.curr_speedcam.speed_limit.number_text <21 'alert1.wav=gatso_ahead.wav Thanks Colin
  8. Thanks for the speedy response. My system does not have an AUDIO folder in the main OGO folder. Do you suggest that I create one to hold the wave files? Thanks Colin
  9. I am trying to get a specific audio warning of an impending speed camera and have used the following script 'borrowed' from a number of moders who seem to know what they are doing. I have tried it at the end of both speedcam.ui and speedcam_800_400.ui. ] I have a series of files such as 20mph.wav and I have put them in the audio folder at the first layer of data.zip, although all of my mod files are outside of the zipped files. The system does not crash and my visual speed camera warning works, but I get no sound! I assume that either the code is faulty, you need special sound
  10. I'm trying to learn how to do my own mods rather than simply copy others! Can someone tell me what 'language' the script is? Thanks Colin
  11. Can anyone tell me which files need to be ammended in order to change the beep that warns of an upcoming speed camera and the barking dog that confirms that you are over the speed limit. Thanks Colin
  12. Is there a European user who has contact with one of the television consumer protection programmes? In the UK its Watchdog. I am sure that if they were to start asking questions of Pioneer Europe, quoting the responses highlighted here, they might change there stance! Colin
  13. As a fellow UK user, I well understand the need to have accurate speed camers information, and I use the free (for a year) site provided by Pioneer. I am not knowledgeable about the workings of the unit, but subject to any comments from those that are, I suggest that you try to wipe clean your speed camera data by going into the system via testmode and deleting the speed camera data i.e. two files in apl2/igo/content/speedcam/. If you need any help, do pm me and then we can correspond better by eMail. Colin

    TMC Problem

I have recently installed the voice mute mod and loaded 2009 maps using a hacked EZRIDER and alternate license file. They seem to work fine. However I have just noted that I have lost my TMC warnings. On investigation I find that in the Traffic set up the system is just going through the radio frequencies, indicating the level of TMC signal and not stoping at the one it should stop at. Before re-loading all my original files, has anyone else come across this? Thank Colin
  15. Does anyone know whether the lack of buildings is an ezrider or license issue? Colin Still trying to understand why I cannot see buildings, but am now wondering whether perhaps I haven't been somewhere where there are buildings in the 3dc file to be seen. Does anyone know whether it is possible to interrogate the file or can anyone in the UK tell me where buildings can be seen? Thanks Colin
  16. I am now working with original Pioneer license and hacked ezrider. All ok, I think, but I cannot see the newly installed buildings although both 3dc and 3dl files are loaded. I have tried alternative license files Asbis_PNA_EEU@0807_(NNG+TA,_WEUMRE)_ASBISGPS450.lic and GENERIC_iGO8_WorldWide@801Product.lic without any luck. The latter of these made the system crash on boot-up! Does anyone know whether the lack of buildings is an ezrider or license issue? Thanks Colin
  17. My first attemp at a mod and updated the UK Map and buildings only. I had to change the hacked EZRIDER file as the first hacked one downloaded made the system hang. I found that: 1. When I left the original Pioneer UK map on the system by the side of thye uploaded 2009 UK map, I could see both maps on the 'About' screen. I have now deleted the original Pioneer map. 2. If I deleted the original licence file, the system hung at start up, but if I re-install the original licence file, all works ok. Is this because I have both old Pioneer maps as well as one 2009 map? Grateful for
  18. Thanks for the prompt responses. Maybe my blue light is dim, but I will look for it. Colin
  19. Does anybody know how to put on the screen an indication that bluetooth is active? On occasions my phone does not connect, and I do not realise until I receive a call or try to make one. Thanks Colin
  20. In the UK we have Phillipa as the non-TTs voice and Serena as the TTS voice, I guess equivilant to Jason and Samantha in the US. I see in WIKI and in Cmh928, mods to improve the Samantha voice. Does anyone know if either or both of these would work to obtain a Phillipa TTS voice. Also the two mods referred to seem to be identical, except that Cmh928 includes a folder with *.ogg files. Does anyone know what this adds to the mod. Thanks Colin
  21. Thanks for that. Did you copy over the POI and building files? Thanks Colin
  22. Good spot, thanks. Any thoughts on the buildings and POI? Thanks Colin
  23. Sorry to ask silly questions but I have decided that all I want to do is upgrade the maps etc rather than do a full mod. I have already downloaded 2009.02.01 maps, poi and building files and have copies of the licence and hacked ezrider files. I have already made a backup copy of the entire flash drive and constructed a speedcam.txt file. Am I write in saying that if I copy the: 1. maps to /apl2/igo/content/map (not deleting any of the existing maps) 2. ezrider to /apl2/igo 3. licence to /apl2/igo/content/igo/license the system will run exactly as before, but with more up-to-
