  1. what folder, in 3.0, do these go in?

Any folder you want, unless you want them to be working...

? I asked as, and yes I have done some modding, I cannot locate any folders with images with the names inside the zip file posted.

The file names in the zip file are:

    746_32K_Home_32b.bmp

    746_32K_OM-019_32b_poi.bmp

    746_32K_OM-019_32b_address.bmp

    button_volume.bmp

    button_volume_mute.bmp

  2. I have the Connects2 for my '08 Audi A4, drove me crazy how the left side control when spun up or down scrolled through the freequencies insted of my preset stations. Then I accidentally PRESSED the knob and wow... each press of it goes to the next preset station. If yours has a knob like this try it...

  3. As said, I would go for something like this:

    http://www.celsusice.co.uk/product_details.aspx?Product_code=AAN2203

As you also need a phantom power adapter as it's 99% certain the antenna amps are already there, but not powered.....

    See also this thread:

Yeah, the first link cannot find anyone who sells and has in stock. Spoke to a guy who seems knowledgeable at CarTunes today. Basically he said that:

the Antenna out lead from the AVIC does not provide enough power for the powered antenna the Audi comes with. To solve this need to simply run 12v to the Audi antenna power amplifier. Just need to figure out which wire it is now.

Also found out another interesting tidbit... since the rear speakers are amplified (factory) and the volume was too low when connected to the AVIC they instructed a simple solution they had just done another 08 A4 with the same factory stereo which was replaced with an AVIC. Plug factory stereo back up, turn volume all the way up. Turn car off, remove factory stereo and put AVIC back in. Will give it a shot...

  4. i would try the ant splitter (as pictured above) and two euro ant adapters(the ones with the built in amp) and see if that does the trick, is three antenna adapters a little over kill, yes but if it works, then its worth it.

edit: the link(the last one) from jwq looks like the piece you need, it has the splitter and amp built into one unit

ARGH! Contacted them, out of stock with no date on when they will have again. Going to go the dual din antenna plus another adapter route... will post results once done...

  5. Does anyone know if the two antenna connections are for?

is one FM and the other AM? Satellite? My Audi is an 2008 A4, came from the factory with the Symphony sound system, NO satellite radio, NO Bose, NO Navigation.. Yet connecting to it in the back are TWO antenna's...

    Diversity antenna.

Thanks.. As I thought then, to get optimal reception need both connected.

  7. anyone here have pointers regarding the Pioneer AVIC antenna connections in a B7?

I got the adapter from ENFIG.com, but... there are TWO antenna connectors in the Audi. The AVIC only has one so the question is; how to connect the other from the Audi?

Notice that with the AVIC the AM reception is pretty much non existent (only able to get one station in DFW).

What are the two antenna connections in the A4 for? i.e. is one for AM and the other for FM or is one connection for AM/FM and the other for satellite radio? My A4 did not come with satellite radio BTW...

    Suggestions? Hints?

    I found a splitter:

    2669940

    http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/Shop ... /SFV/30046

which may do the trick, depending on what the two antenna connections are for. Would get another Audi antenna connection adapter (for a total of 2) which would then allow connection of both antennas. Thoughts?

  8. OK, anyone here have pointers regarding the Pioneer AVIC F7010BT (same as F700BT) antenna connections in a 2008 Audi A4 (B7)?

Have the antenna wire hooked up to the antenna wire of the AVIC and set in the AVIC to "Power"

  10. you have the folder structure right, but it needs to be a 7zip file, not a plain zip file. The easiest thing to do is download 7zip, open the the Image.res file in there, and then drag-n-drop your new files into the 7zip window, overwriting the old ones.

OK, here is what I will try then..

    1. Rename the file Image.zip

    2. Unzip it

    3. Use 7zip to rezip it with extension .7z

    4. Rename Image.res

  11. Trouble/confused...

Not sure what is the error...

    Zipped up the folder:

"Images" after replacing a couple of the images inside the UI folder. No workie.

Which way should they be zipped up and the file then renamed "Image.res"?

    1. Folder already created:

    Image/common

    Image/AV

    Image/Tel

    Image/Main

In other words, a folder named "Image" with the subfolders: AV, Common, AV and Tel

Here is the file I have, can someone take a look and see what is wrong with it?

    http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=6e97 ... f6e8ebb871

    OR...

    2. Folders

    AV

    Common

    Main

    Tel

zipped to Image.zip and then renamed to Image.res

    ?

  12. Need some assistance/direction...

I installed the GTIMatt version, very nice!

    A couple questions...

    1. When a route is not currently active I would prefer to NOT have the following displayed towards the lower left:

    Date

    Elevation

    Speed

    Time

and towards the upper right would prefer the icon for GPS satellites to not be displayed

Could not locate the "navigatemap_800_480.ui" file so I could edit/comment out the code that makes them display. Anyone point me to it or be so kind as to modify the data.zip file so they are not displayed?

    2. Would VERY much like to have the red theme extended to the radio station screens, i.e. "detail", "presets", etc., etc. as this would make it match the interior lighting in my car.

Help much appreciated and I am open to paying anyone for their trouble!

    Thanks!
