  1. Sigh ... I made the mistake of letting Ciruit City install my Z1 a few months back and a few things were not installed: but my initial concern is the Turn by Turn Voice guidance. I hear music and also hear the voice when adjusting volume settings etc., but when i input ANY address the turn by turn audio is not heard. I've played with EVERY settting and tried to figure it out while i was under there installing the bluetooth adapter, but had no success. I just finished going over the manual and they detail options if additional equipment is used but i'm running my stock speaker system etc.,
  2. Thank you for your post and I apologize if my 3rd did seem pushy - it was not my intention. Perhaps I should have stated that I had already exhausted my options within the manual itself. I will further troubleshoot the issue with the information you've provided. It is not out of the question that it was install incorrectly I would just like to adress that as a last resort. Thanks again for your thoroughness.
  3. I appreciate everyone giving me a little credit in assuming I did not attempt that. I have the electronic copy of the manual and did find the section as to where it indicates 'voice guidance', and was unable to find the 'reroute' option when you turn off course. My question was a little deeper than that - Does the map view have to be in a certain mode (i.e., spit, overview, or any other ) for the voice guidance to be activated. I have pressed the 'speaker' icon a million and one times and again all i hear is the audio when i reach my destination. And still have not found the option t
  4. Thanks that helped a bunch ...
  5. Please respond - If this is possible it seems like a pretty easy 'how to' and I would appreciate your input. Thanks in advance
  6. I have no idea what your talking about - i've pressed every button combination i could think of to edit those settings. Could you please be a little more specific. I.e., When the Navigation is functioning press menu button, etc., etc., Thanks again
  7. Hey, I've only had my unit for a few days and have not seen alot of options to adjust especially this: I noticed that when i set a destination and take a wrong turn it does not recalculate my travel route - Is this standard ?? I would be surprised if it was ... seems pretty standard even on the stand alone Tom Tom models. Also I'm not getting turn by turn audio - the only time I hear anything is when i reach my destination. The voice alerts me of that only. Is there a setting i've missed, unlikly but i'll entertain the option
  8. Hey, Has anyone tested whether or not the Z1 will read Dual Layer DVD's for audio purposes ? Thanks again.
  9. Hey Guys, I know there has been alot of posts regarding bypassing the ebrake as to enable DVD Playback etc., while in motion. This is something i've EXTREMELY interested in obviously, but first I would like to determine the date my unit was manufactured. Unless i'm mistaken and miss a key thread or two its after that discovery that I can take the appropriate steps described on: http://www.sminntech.com/z1flash.html Thank again for your time regarding this matter. Francis
  10. The solution was: When you've finished creating your file in photoshop you MUST select "Save for Web" rather than choosing "Save As" Thanks for the advice/help
  11. I had figured it might be something like that, but the fact that one of the files worked is what baffled me. I'll take a peek at your files and see what I can come up with ... thanks for the reply
  12. Hey, I've pretty much exhausted your threads for this topic but have not found a solution. I've created numerous images in photoshop as follows: Size 1000x480 Saved as .JPG I've burned my CD using Nero and added the necessary filler file etc., etc., When I load the CD it recognizes it and allows me to browse it, but only allows me to add one image and the rest come up 'corrupt' I've used 7 different CD's and altered the files names and the file sizes just as many times with no success. What am I missing ... anyone else experience this ?
